GOTHAM BY MIDNIGHT #1 is on sale November 26. The series is written by Ray Fawkes with art by Ben Templesmith. While we wait for the first issue to come out, we have your first look at the variant cover for issue #2. This was originally solicited as drawn by Ray Fawkes but it appears to be a cool Rafael Albuquerque cover.

@captainmarvel4ever: Yeah, its basically a Spectre series, and they're just using the Gotham name in the hopes of a sales boost.

They've actually been setting things up a bit in Batman: Eternal, though I don't think its essential reading if you want to get in on Gotham By Midnight.

Looks like this is going to be my second bat-related title on my pull list.

@fhiz: Sigh. That's what I thought. DC told me it was a Fawkes cover but I thought it looked like Albuquerque. Previews also lists Fawkes.

Here's a few more details. And if this wasn't enough to get you hyped you may want to check out this 10-page preview on Bleeding Cool.

Definitely yes. Both series focus on the GCPD with Batman and his villains playing only minor roles. Gotham by Midnight features a different, weirder division (the Midnight Shift/Watch) of the GCPD than Gothan Central (homicide division) and seems to be a bit darker... and more mysterious maybe.

I'm really interested in this series, partly because of Ben Templesmith's art, but I don't have a lot of faith in Ray Fawkes.

But man, everything about this sounds awesome.
