Oh nostalgia, been a long time since I bought any X-Men books, looks like Secret Wars will be changing that.

I will feel so bad for Beak if his x-gene is reactivated after Secret Wars. He is so handsome now.

He'd be going from this...

I don't like Ramon Villalobos' art. It looks too much like Frank Quitely's.

@joaoanjos: Yeah, but I'd rather him just live happily ever after as a person and not have to live as a talking chicken.

@teerack: I was very happy when Beack, Angel and theirs sons became "normal" after Hose of M and reach a real happy ending. But the marvel can't let them live happily after, and re-use them as heroes, with doubtufull constume and gimmnick, transforming them in "just another two common hero".

So, for me is:

Beack & Angel Mutants and in Action: OK, I love them!

Beack & Angel "Normal" and Happly at Home: Good your them, I like this end!

Beack & Angel "Normal" and Superheroing: Boring and Lame thing. So, no :)

Anyway, I think that the two in this series are Beack & Angel from another parallel universe, so maybe they never became "normal"... so, after Secret Wars... anything may happen? :)

@thecowwasdelirious: there's nothing special about copying another artist's style.

well, it's a style, which people can elaborate upon. I've only seen a few others in this vein, and each of them are unique in their own way imo.

Maybe they will make it so this time around Beak can shift back and froth from normal to chicken man if he gets re-empowered. That was what they did with Iceman if you remember he was an ice person and no longer able to become human until after he lost his powers for a short while after M-Day and when he got them back he was able to do all the stuff he used to but was also able to become human.

@thecowwasdelirious: Manga is a style. "Frank Quitely" is not. Ramon hes explicitly said in interviews that he deliberately set out to mimic Quitely. So yeah, he's a rip off.

@stellar421: Manga is a genre, not a visual style. Both Quitely and Villalobos are working in the same type of visual style, along with Chris Burnham and others. They each create their own personal style, even though they all work in the same vein of illustration.

@thecowwasdelirious: Manga can also refer to the unique style of the Japanese comics. Shonen and mecha are manga genres. But as I said, deliberately copying someone's style does not mean working in the same style as, say, Steve Epting and Bryan Hitch, who go for a realistic style. I can't copy Travis Charest and call it a style.

As for Chris Burnham, he has also repeatedly stated he mimics Quitely. So he's a rip off too.

@stellar421: apart from the fact that they are deliberately mimicing him, i think they all have their own personal style. But Quitely is better than all of them because he is a god
