Eisner-Award Winner Francesco Francavilla Joins HAWKEYE in April

It can be a bummer when you really dig the artist on a great book and then they need to take a break for whatever reason. But sometimes we get to see other truly awesome artists jump in. That's exactly what's happening on HAWKEYE in April.

Matt Fraction has been doing a great job writing Clint Barton's solo series and David Aja's art has helped make it a great package overall. If we're going to have another artist step in, Francesco Francavilla is a great choice. Francavilla will be on issue 10 and possibly 12, according to David Aja.

Yeah no offense to any of the other artists, but Aja needs to be on this title as much as possible

@Webjaker: As awesome as the guy is the fact that he can only do 3 issues in a row is a bit of a farce. I mean come on seriously when you have people like Capullo and Samnee doing 10-12 issues streches of awesome work you can't help but wonder what the hell is he doing?

David Aja and Cliff Chiang take more breaks than I go to the bathroom in a single day. But I love their work so its worth it.

I'm thinking these April artists are all temporary. Would be nice to get some information from Marvel on this. Probably asking too much since they most likely don't even know themselves.

I think Marvel are doing rotating Artists, 1 artist does one arc, then another artist does the next and it keeps rotating, still artists these days aren't a batch of the likes of Kirby and co.

Wait...so he's doing issue 10 & 12...not issue 10 & 11 or issues 10-12...why does Marvel keep doing this? Is a single arc with a single artist that much to ask?

I wonder? Is he working on anything else at the moment? Im not an artist, so I really cant comment on how long/much work goes into a comic, but it would seem that he could do a 6 issue stretch and then maybe a pause with another artist or Id be happy to wait an extra month for this awesomeness. That one issue awhile back by whoever just wasnt the same - it was ok, but just not the same.

I have enjoyed this book greatly thus far and hopefully there is no end in sight.

Francavilla on the interior pencils and cover? Color me interested!
