Another day, another teaser image for Marvel NOW! Today’s image teases the upcoming creative team taking over Deadpool’s solo series (we assume). Because honestly, who else in the Marvel Universe loves chimichangas as much as Deadpool does?

What’s most interesting about this creative team switcheroo is that comedians Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan will be taking over Deadpool from Daniel Way, who’s had a rather long stint on the character. Joining them will be Tony Moore on art, it appears. Posehn and Duggan are definitely interesting choices, but here’s hoping their comedy roots make DEADPOOL the go-to series for the funny.

So let us recap the teasers we’ve seen thus far: Kieron Gillen and Greg Land will be taking over IRON MAN. Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic will be helming THOR. Mark Waid and Leinil Yu will be handling HULK. And finally, as of today, Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and Tony Moore will be in control of DEADPOOL.

We have one more teaser to go tomorrow, anyone want to place their bets?

#2 Posted by Master_Thief (262 posts) - 9 months, 21 days ago - Show Bio

Probably Wolverine

oh did you hear about the news the xmen first class sequel is based on the future past storyline

I can't even articulate how excited I am for this. Too bad Moore never stays on a book for more than 6 issues.

That guy writes comics?

This could actually be awesome.

Hopefully they make him a bit badass.

I don't know what to say here. This is either gonna be awesome or a total flop.

#6 Posted by Scheiner (25 posts) - 9 months, 21 days ago - Show Bio

I enjoy Moore's work on venom, but I haven't heard of the writers before now, but hey whoever this guy is I bet he is better than Way.

Wow Deadpool being announced in the same league as Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, good for him.

I think that applies for all of Marvel NOW!

#8 Posted by Duke_Nasty (1017 posts) - 9 months, 21 days ago - Show Bio

@Scheiner: The writer is a semi-famous comedian. I think he's pretty funny but this could go either way.

Really mixed on this. Posehn has no trouble making me laugh, but I want more than comedy in a Deadpool comic. Hopefully he can restore my faith in Wade by making some great developments in the character and make me laugh along the way.

Personally, I would have loved to see Mike Benson behind the new title. I thought he did a good job with Wilson in 'Suicide Kings.' Or, Rick Remender. Deadpool has doesn't squat in Uncanny X-Force, but he has way more heart than Way's Deadpool IMHO.

I'll have to wait to hear how this goes, but I might be interested.

I LOVE Tony Moore's artwork, plus we get two comedians writing. Woah this'll be cool. I have high hopes for this :D

Who are the writers but I do like Tony Moore's work.

Brian Posehn writing Deadpool?! Not only is he hillarious, but he's also a writer and fan of the comics, so it won't be like Marvel just threw him in there. Can't wait for this!

Very interesting, be checking it out

Im a little scared, no one has been as good for Deadpool as Daniel Way, i can only hope they have been watching what he is doing and love the character as much as he does. Please dont ruin him....

Urgh, Land's on Iron Man.

Anyway, I will definitely be picking this up.... just for curiosity's sake. @Master_Thief said:

I have- could the Sentinels finally be making an appearance? Also, Rachel Summers without introducing Jean Grey/Scott Summers? Should be interesting.

i am interested in a serious and slightly funny deadpool

#33 Posted by AngelComa (12 posts) - 9 months, 20 days ago - Show Bio

This is Posehn big break in the comics biz and its also Deadpool. I don't know if you guys heard the tweets about Liefeld calling these guys 'D-list' (lmao). But Posehn isn't A-list for sure.

But hey, if he proves himself, he proves himself. We shall see.

Yes!!! Between T'Challa and Storm splitting the the majority of these creative switch ups Marvel's been making me smile this week. Way loooooong outstayed his welcome on this book. Maybe now it'll get good again.

I'm interested and worried at the same time. I'm a fan of Brian Posehn, but I didn't know he was a writer. I don't know who Gerry Duggan is. I'm willing to give them a chance.

#37 Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus (5879 posts) - 9 months, 20 days ago - Show Bio

Had me at chimichangas! :)

#38 Posted by WobblySnake (19 posts) - 9 months, 20 days ago - Show Bio

Tony Moore on art? I'm down. His style has a wide enough range to capture both the comedic and more serious sides of Deadpool, I think.

Never read anything by these writers, but we'll see which way they decide to take Deadpool. I don't HATE Daniel Way's vision of him, but I really hope these new writers manage to steer him back to his roots.

#39 Posted by Pwnography6 (14 posts) - 9 months, 20 days ago - Show Bio

Posehn is also a die hard metal head so this could be super brutal.

#40 Posted by Eyz (3094 posts) - 9 months, 20 days ago - Show Bio

Awww. two comedians? okay, might be fun..though I personally would have loved to see Jason Aaron on D-Pool.

Brian Michael Bendis for writting and Rob Liefeld on art duties and you have the perfect Deadpool comic.

I've never heard of Tony Moore but then again I'm still a noob when it comes to artists. There is no way I'll be able to read this Deadpool Now! stuff without hearing Posehn's voice as Wade in my head. Maybe he should've used a pseudonym so I wouldn't have this problem. I'd love to see him write a D&D game between Deadpool, Bullseye, Taskmaster, Bob, and Weasel though nothing about that premise even resembles a theme of "Now!". In any case this team has big shoes to fill since Way's run is so ridiculously good.

LOL

#47 Posted by sethysquare (3806 posts) - 9 months, 19 days ago - Show Bio

so.... I guess they're not A-list.

lol

#48 Posted by 5ive (90 posts) - 9 months, 19 days ago - Show Bio

Liefeld brought up the point that none of marvels big names ever writes for deadpool and feeling were hurt. grown men cried in the corner over the phrase "D list" lol. Deadpool is always written as an ongoing joke and the guy could be a lot more.

#49 Posted by zackattack529 (1404 posts) - 9 months, 19 days ago - Show Bio

@feebadger: not quite..i was drinking this weird soda that contained 95% 'Sarcasm'...the other 5% was something called 'Obvious.'

but on the contrary Deadpool is meant to be a comedy-joke comic, afterall bendis and liefeld are Jokes to the comic industry so idk maybe lol

#50 Posted by AskaniSon295 (397 posts) - 9 months, 19 days ago - Show Bio

Maybe Deadpool will get to date Sarah Silverman.
