We've seen the cover for BATMAN #19 before. This is part of DC's month of crazy gatefold covers. We've seen Bruce Wayne holding a gun on someone. We had no idea who...until now.

DC has revealed the gatefold cover. Is a spoiler? Proceed at your own risk.

Who would cause Bruce Wayne to use a gun?

What the...heck?!? We'll have to pick this up to find out what the heck is going on.

BATMAN #19 is on sale April 19.

Holy?!?!... I'm guessing it's related to Damian's death, right?

#2 Posted by LarryDavis (143 posts) - - Show Bio

It's Hush.

#3 Posted by darkwingdan (179 posts) - - Show Bio

Well, considering this was originally going to be WTF Certified month, it makes sense.

#4 Posted by MaxSchreck (97 posts) - - Show Bio

Probably , we`ve seen Gordon trying to arrest Batman at the beginning of Batman Inc #1. Bruce has done something after Damians death that has made Jim his enemy .

Maybe Jim broke into the Batcave. The silhouette to Bruce's left almost looks like the side of a grandfather clock, like the one that conceals the entrance to the Cave.

Maybe Jim is investigating into who Batman is... Idk I have no clue why Bruce would say Jim is his greatest enemy. This just feels like there going for shock value which is unnecessary. There doing a great job.

@Avenging-X-Bolt: Many other covers have been posted on DC's site, including Batwing and Heroes for Hire.

EDIT: Earth-2 was the one I couldn't remember. There might be others, but those were the only ones I cared about.

I've never seen Jim Gordon and Joe Chill in the same place at the same time now that I think about it.

#13 Posted by FoxxFireArt (3536 posts) - - Show Bio

That's unusual. You wont have Batman kill Joker or let him die, but you have Bruce with a gun?! Though, is that even really Bruce?

#14 Posted by TDK_1997 (13727 posts) - - Show Bio

Maybe he goes against Wayne Enterprises or starts going bad.Doesn't matter,we'll see.

#15 Posted by Suprman (442 posts) - - Show Bio

I am intrigued.

#16 Posted by Saranth (73 posts) - - Show Bio

A child's been murdered in Batman's care; in Batman's arms. The police therefore have to make enquiries. I suspect that Jim has gone to talk to Bruce about it and, in his grief, Bruce has reacted very badly.

Why The Face!?!?!?!?!

#18 Posted by doordoor123 (3721 posts) - - Show Bio

It makes sense. As a vigilante, Batman should consider Gordon as one of his greatest enemies. I wonder if this story is going to reignite that. And maybe this is why Batman will be fighting Batgirl in future solicitations.

Earth-2 was great, im still waiting for Nightwing and JLA among others. Batwing was a disappointment, seeing as how we don't actually get too see whose in the suit

@Avenging-X-Bolt: I agree, it's not much of a reveal if we can't tell who's under it all. Although, based on the structure of the mask, I have a hunch...

EDIT: Obviously not that one in particular. Image is just for reference.

i would like to note that is Bruce Wayne that appears to hold the gun so maybe its Jim Gordon vs Bruce Wayne than Jim Gordon vs Batman.

You just don't eat the last hot wing and drink the last beer Mr Gordon ....now leave ...and you'd better hope Pennyworth's got more

I hope not, Hush was more interesting before the whole "now I have Bruce's face" nonsense. My money's on Clayface.

Hence the 'WTF Certified' thing they were throwing around before people started getting shirty about it. I think all of the gatefold voers are going to confuse the hell out of people...

I doubt that's actually Hush, Bruce pulled a gun on Jim before. But it would be a great way to bring Hush into the new 52

Bruce Wayne using a gun? Seriously?

#42 Posted by TheNameIsWayne (47 posts) - - Show Bio

@Fantasgasmic: The point of Hush is that he wanted Bruce's face....

#43 Posted by Teerack (4550 posts) - - Show Bio

Oh no! D:

#44 Posted by VaizD (237 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm thinking it might really be Hush. First of all, it says BRUCE WAYNE'S greatest enemy, not Batman's, and as far as enemies of Bruce Wayne go, Hush is pretty much the worst. Also, remember that issue 20's cover depicts Batman having a fist fight with Bruce (or someone who looks like him). So Hush or not, I'm 90% sure that's not Bruce on the cover holding the gun.

#45 Posted by alex6166 (64 posts) - - Show Bio

Aw, they're just messing with us. It'll be good though. It's a good book.

#46 Posted by Kiltro95 (290 posts) - - Show Bio

First of all batman holding a gun doesn't feel quite right, and the question comes up what would he have against Gordon? I think that isn't really Bruce but someone acting to be him to get close to Gordon. Wrath anyone?

He does have a vendetta against Gordon, he's a batman look alike it makes sense, the thing that throws this theory off though is that the shadow has finned gloves, Wrath or at least this old image of him does not. Anyway just have to wait and see.

I'm getting burnt out on the "duhn-duhn-DUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHN" games.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST THING EVAR!!!!!!!!!

until the following issue, when it becomes

NOPE, SORRY, JUST KIDDING, THIS IS REALLY THE BIGGEST THING EVAR!!!!!!!!!!

until the issue after that, when it becomes

HA, HA, GOT YOU, NO REALLY, THIS IS THE ISSUE THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, I know there's a certain amount of that to be expected in comics, but when EVERYTHING is OMG SO EPPPIIIIIIICCCCCC then nothing is.

#50 Posted by Omega-Man (756 posts) - - Show Bio

Why are people making up that it's Hush or Wrath? it's CLAYFACE they said it was a Clayface story for the next few issues. Sheesh people need to read.
