AMC's Preacher Just Cast Cassidy

The Irish vampire Cassidy has been cast for the upcoming AMC show Preacher, based off the Vertigo comic of the same name. British actor Joseph Gilgun, who appeared as Rudy Wade on the show Misfits, will be taking one of the starring roles on the show, according to Deadline.

Preacher, from Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, along with Sony TV and AMC Studios will also star Ruth Negga as Tulip, and features recently cast Ian Colleti who will play Arseface. No one has been officially cast as Jesse Custer yet, but Dominic Cooper has been in talks for the lead.

Not bad.

Don't know anything about the character or Preacher, but he's a very good actor.

Misfits wasn't on the BBC.

I'm currently reading Preacher right now (I'm on Book 3) and I'm curious to see how close they'll stick to the comics considering the material.

Also,glad to hear he's a good actor.

He was great on Misfits. Although, I'm sure many hate him since he replaced a character that just about everyone loved.

Misfits was on Channel 4\E4 not the BBC.

The book is overrated. Such a rich premise and they ignore it in favor of senseless violence and gore. I really hope the show does a better job with the story then the book did.

@k4tzm4n: Rudy was awesome but Nathan was just fantastic, he should have replaced Curtis. Critics was just boring since day one.

Dude, It's the best godd@mn book ever written by Garth Ennis.

It definitely is. The series ran for 66 issues and had some specials, including a mini. You should check them out in trades if available.

Gilgun is a much better actor than the guy who played Nathan.

Besides, you cannot have a show with 5 personalities like Nathan (or Rudy for that matter), there have got to be some other characters, too, and some of them may even seem to be boring just because they're rather normal (like Curtis in the beginning).

I can't wait to see Gilgun on Preacher!

wait Preacher is getting a TV serious!!!!! PREACHER!!!!!!! I am so happy right now AMC do not fail me! Preacher is the best thing to have ever been published, and the cast so far seems great.
