Delayed posts

Some posts show up a few minutes after I post them, so there are delayed reactions. Also, some new appear, and then disappear randomly, might be related. I know @pikahyper also had this problem recently. Sometimes the posts are there, but the topic isn't bumped on the front page until after a few minutes. So three problems:

• Posts showing up after I post them
• New topics disappear and reappear after minutes
• Posts are there, but topic isn't bumped until a few minutes.

we're looking into it, i think we're dealing w/ 1-2second slave replication which is unfortunately causing us problems w/ our caching... hopefully have an answer soon.

yup, the background for those that are interested is it seems that our database slaves are behind on replicating data from the master. We do our caching and notifications asynchronously (ie not on the web server you posted your message from) to lower load on that server and increase responsiveness. Since our db slaves are behind, it causes two problems.

One is we end up caching a thread without the new message (because the db slave doesn't know about it yet).

The other is the post with the @ or the PM is sent to our notifiers, but since the slave doesn't know about it, our notifiers give up (possible bad message is what the error is). As a result, notifications and posts seem like they disappear. Only the former is permanent, the latter comes back in 15 minutes or so after our caches expire.
