I'm using Google Chrome. When I click the video option and add a URL (from YouTube) I get a message saying the video service isn't recognized.
Cannot embed videos
@icarusflies: long form or short form? what browser? worked in Chrome with both types just now for me.
@pikahyper: I used the 'link' under the share thing. Then I tried the embed code. Then I used the actual link in the URL bar. Nothing worked.
@icarusflies: browser?
@pikahyper: Chrome.
@icarusflies: what version?
@icarusflies: Are you using the URL or an embed code? Embed codes don't work with the new video upload system; you've gotta use the plain URL
@pikahyper: Right, but I meant was she pasting the embed code into that instead of the URL code. I've seen a couple people do that, because that's how it used to function before the relaunch (despite it saying URL)
@icarusflies: What is the specific URL that you're trying to embed? Are there multiple URLs, or just one that's causing problems? Every once in a while a Youtube URL will return an error, even though most of them work fine.
I'm having a similar problem that's been going on for a while now, I try to upload a Youtube video and it says Comicvine doesn't recognize the URL. I have Chrome, Firefox and IE and it won't take the URL on any of the browsers.
@the_stegman: same video or have you tried multiple? as the last post says every once in a while a URL just won't work.
@pikahyper: I've tried multiple vids, it's been like this for a week or so.
@the_stegman: can you please post a few urls here?
I can post URLs as links like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pnK8akbd2M
But when I try to post them in the actual video function, it can't read the Link.
@the_stegman: hmm that link worked fine for me, maybe you need to update flash player? have you tried that?
@pikahyper: No, the links work fine, but when I try to post them (in a way that shows the actually video and not take you to YouTube instead) it won't work.
@the_stegman: I know, I was saying it embedded fine for me, check for Flash Player updates though, I don't think that should be a problem but it might be.
