Blade respect thread

Is it me or dose anyone else feel Blade is an underrated character? I mean the guy murders vamps for a living and he still gets no respect, what's up with that.

Deal with it. Wesley Snipes just isn;t that cool anymore. Lust Kidding man. Blade would make a better character if he was used better.

Blade's alright, never read any comic book Blade, but the first two movies where alright, I liked the Vampire gang, that was cool.

i think its a great idea, whats wrong with saying i like this character and im gonna tell everyone about it? good on ya.

i love blade and snipes was great in 1 and 2, more 1 than 2 but trinity was a load of mouse poop!

They need to stop recycling the same black actors over and over again. Wesley Snipes is like 50 and so is Denzel

yes he is very underrated i mean he is the coolest black character out their and they pushed the envelope out their no im not racist but most of the black characters int eh marvel or dc universe are their because their black like black goliath but Blade has always been original

Blade is a great character and I’ll never say he's crap. the other day i was talking to my friends in college about the movies and they all said they loved the movie, but they would never buy the comics.

I think this is because of the fact that the movies are better than the comics, with the people who are writing the books these days.

Also unlike characters like Spiderman and Spawn, Blade was never a well known character before the movie's came out. I think all comic movie's after Blade should show their respect to Blade because if Blade didn’t come out not as many people would wanna watch these kind of movie. remember past Batman, the flash and superman movies (one word for them... LAME)

i agree, i ALWAYS followed blade, and not many knew about him, in fact the blade movies one one of teh few that where good!!! it better than the spwan movie, even though the actor in spwan is a great artist.

i do not agree, movies presnt a image with motion and sound, action etc, where comics you have to use your mind, and interpet. Im not trying to say that people who have no creative, may not like comics, but you have to us eyour mind and enjoy, like any other book.

Are you serious, an adult Blade cartoon? That would rock so hard I hope they get Khary Payton to voice Blade and If Marvel is thinking of making a Deadpool cartoon have Johnny"Crypt Keeper"Kassir voice Wade.

the blade movies were great... i remember sitting there watching the first fight scene in the slaughter house just thinking this is amaising. unfortunately i cant get into his comic, i've tried a number of times but he just isn't written well :(

Look, Blade is one of the best characters there is, especially if your on Marvel:Ultimate Alliance. But they need his costume from the third movie in there. Sorry, am I babbling?

yeah, Blade is a kick ass character... but unfortunately he's never been written well...

he's like Ra's Al Ghul in Batman, he has so much potential, but never gets any decent writers to play with him

i like horror type comics so i like blade and he does not a lot credit because not really a superhero even though he has (vampire) powers and saves people but he is not really a SUPERhero.

Anyone ever see Blade's first appearance, in Tomb of Dracula? I love the afro, horrible green outfit and double negatives just thrown in there. Gold.

Blade is a great character. One of my fave Marvel characters. I've read one (or maybe two, can't quite remember) issues of his most recent series......wasn't all that good. I mean, art wasn't very good, Blade was just in the wrong "look" (Blade should always be bald, IMO. He just looks cooler that way), and he was written odd......

But anyways, liked the movies (number one was great, two was okay, haven't seen all of three yet), cool character. Maybe we'll get lucky and another, better series will resurface.

Yeah, it'd be cooler to see Blade more involved in the Marvel Universe. I mean, he's just as strong and fast as any low-level superhuman, right? And the whole concept of a vampire with a black trenchcoat killing fools with a katana and other gadgets is pretty far out, I must admit...I love all the horror guys. Zombie needs to come back.

What whould really get him credit is if he fought some top superhero like the hulk but i don't think he whould win in fact he might not live after the fight

Yes Blade is vastly underrated, but I think it's really Marvel's fault for him not taking off in the comics. Kudos to them for basically starting the superhero movei craze with a GREAT first two Blade films, but it seems like they just don't care about him being written well as far as the comics goes. It's like they just give him a series and then expect fans of the movies to just gobble it up regardless of the bad writing.

Just stopping by to show my respect for Blade. It was one of the first comic books i ever read and was hooked on the world that he fought in. It is still my favourite character and series to read. Definately one of the reasons i started to create my own comics. BLADE 4 LIFE!!! Also, the first movie did start a bit of a roll on with more comic book movies to be made more regularly after that. It did pretty well considering it was a movie about a character that most people and comic fans new nothing or little about.
