There was a reason she dumped Daredevil, and that reason still applies. Matt Murdock is kind of poison when it comes to romantic relationships. They have a good chemistry, but they both like to be in charge, and their tempers clash. It's not a recipe for an easy relationship, which was why even when they were dating, it was always rocky. I liked her with Clint, but that was pretty much doomed from the start. That relationship was fundamentally based on lies, so of course it couldn't hold together in the long term. If they tried it again, now that they are both less uh, inclined to sabotage Iron Man, they might have a shot. But Clint is hung up over Bobbi, and Natasha has done pretty well for herself with Bucky. She doesn't seem to be feeling the "sidekick syndrome" she did with Matt; their relationship has been pretty smooth and happy.
She was Bucky's sidekick too.

Not in the same way— she had to give up being on the Avengers due to the way comics worked in the 1970s. And, well, Matt explicitly wanted her to be the junior partner in-story, he wanted someone he could rescue, someone he could be in charge of. Matt likes being the man in the relationship, and plenty of writers have pointed this out since. With Bucky, well, you can't be as openly misogynistic as Matt was during the 1970s in comics today, but the sidekick problems seem more out-of-story. Natasha's a supporting character because Brubaker's book focuses on Bucky, not because Bucky secretly yearns for her to stay at home and make him dinner. And she's been pretty active in other books while she's dating Bucky— there's more than one story where he's playing sidekick to her.

Basically, I'm not sure any of the people who want her to be with Daredevil have actually read the old comics, or is considering the question from Natasha's POV. The way they ended, it would be a regression of her character for them to get back together long-term. (I think it's something she might realistically try— she's always had a soft spot for Matt. But it would definitely be a regression.)

Fanboy Attack!Actually I read all of them.He stop treating her like that a long time ago,he has matured alot since then and so has their relationship, they have been through decades of stories together. The regression of her character already happen when she slept with Captain America's sidekick.Pipe bomb.

She's Bucky's sidekick just like she was Matt's.Whatever feelings they share for her and the difference between them isn't really relevant as far as i'm concerned.Black Widow saved Matt's life when he needed her and she did the same for Bucky.I don't know who the second half of your post is aimed at but I never said I want Daredevil with Black Widow I'd rather she stayed with Bucky but hopefully this time she actually sticks with someone because i'm tired of Marvel whoring Natasha out and for the record i've read every single issue of Daredevil including his miniseries and one-shots.

Bucky, Brubaker has done an amazing job with writing these two together, whether or not people like the retcon, I personally do and I like that their history goes back and makes them even better partners due to their history. Plus like I said, Brubaker writes them both great together, they make the perfect team, having each others back and knowing each other well enough to respect one another, heck read the first story arc of the newest Black Widow series and you'll see that even Liu writes Bucky and Natasha perfectly as both lovers and Avengers.

I have to say, I've been reading the Winter Soilder book and (I have not read all of their Cap stuff yet, working on that) I agree Brubaker has done an amazing job pairing these two as partners, something about their working chemistry is just magical. However I'm not sure if I care too much for the romantic side of it... it would be fun to see them go through a rough spot with the relationship, split, still work together and work things out. Romanticly I think, Daredevil kind of gets it, they were good together for the superheroics but Nat is'nt all hero and Neither is Buck they can both do what needs to be done and without the questioning looks they would recieve from others who don't deal in that world they way they do.

It's a shame that past writers where never interested with developing a Partnership between Spider-Man x The Black Widow until recently. It would be cool to see Zeb Wells and Joe Mad do another Spider-Man project involving Spider-Man, The Black Widow, and Spider-Woman against a common enemy.

I hope that The Black Widow x Bucky stay together as well because Matt now has the Black Cat as his new crime fighting partner.

DAREDEVIL

The only answer. Bucky and BW are forced and terrible.

@FadeToBlackBolt

Here is a question that I asked Tom Brevoort regarding The Black Widow:

Now that ASM: Ends of the Earth is a success, would Marvel be willing to use The Black Widow and Spider-Man in future team-up stories in Avenging Spider-Man or a possible Black Widow mini series?

Tom Brevoort

I don't really think it has a lot of impact one way or the other. We've tried BLACK WIDOW projects and likely will again, but we've not yet found an approach that makes an ongoing book viable. And like any other character, she'll guest-star in the Spidey titles when there's an appropriate storyline, but fitting her in there isn't really a priority.

Imagine if she was feature as a guest crime fighting partner in ASM: Maximum Carnage instead of The Black Cat? Anyway, if the guy who is writing Winter Soldier wants to do a team-up story with Spider-Man x The Black Widow, he would do such a story in the pages of Avenging Spider-Man.

If Stan Lee had used The Black Widow on a regular basis after ASM #86 into his supporting cast, Spider-Man would have been her best crime fighting partner.

Always fun seeing old threads bumped.

I've preferred Bucky since he was brought back into continuity, both in a professional and a romantic sense. That said, she works well in any story alongside Daredevil, Wolverine, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Nick Fury as well.
