I want to see a relative unknown. A lot of these guys mentioned are already in their 40's. Let's have someone fresh that can really commit to the role for the long haul.

I don't think Will would be a good fit. There are other black actors that can handle the job. Anthony Mackie or Derek Luke, perhaps?

I see the Panther played more by someone like Djimon Honsou or Chiwetel Ejiofor. Smith is a good actor, but he's an actor who's built up a specific image, an image that almost every character he's portrayed adheres to, and to me, Black Panther doesn't fall into that category.

I agree with what most everyone is saying Will Smith is amazing but not for BP.

Will is way better for The Falcon. But we wont ever see the falcon.....sad.

This is the only choice for BP. Djimoun Hounsou. Great actor AND he already has the accent.

Having seen Will Smith in Ali, I firmly believe he can pull off any role he's cast in. However, I think it would need a different guy. Don Cheadle could pull off the characterization, but not the look. Tough call.

You know what ? Actually you're right. Hounsou fits better with this role, even if Elba is a stellar actor. I though about him at first because Elba's got this powerful, tortured, manly and absolutly handsome acting. But Hounsou matches Elba in acting skills, and he's got the right face.

The internet is officially broken.

As much as I love Will Smith and the movies he stars in I don't think he should play Black Panther. I don't think I would take him seriously since he's always cracking jokes. He does have a few more serious films but the only one that I remember where he is super human is the film Hancock. I'm trying to picture him as Black Panther and it just doesn't seem to fit. And as some others said, I don't think his skin is dark enough to match what the animated character looked like.
