A lot of people have seen Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. The movie broke several records over the weekend at the box office. It's been reported as bringing in $238 million in U.S. sales alone, putting it above the previous record holder, Jurassic World. It's also been reported the movie earned over $517 million worldwide.

In the movie we got to see the new droid BB-8. Many caught their first glimpse at the rolling droid over a year ago when the first teaser trailer was released. We've recently discovered* this actually wasn't the first time he's appeared. Check out these other movies he's been in.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)

BB-8 was in the first Star Wars movie released. When the Jawas visited Luke and Uncle Owen, one of the droids far to the left was actually BB-8. Maybe they just didn't need or want a spherical astromech droid.

It turns out even this wasn't his first appearance.

Jaws (1975)

In the movie that made many not want to "go into the water again," BB-8 was actually used by Roy Sheider's character.

No Caption Provided

Rocky (1976)

If you've seen The Force Awakens, you know BB-8 has no problem with stairs. In 1976's Rocky, one of the big moments was when Sylvester Stallone ran up the stairs in Philadelphia. It turns out he wasn't alone. BB-8 was there alongside him during his training.

No Caption Provided

Casablanca (1943)

Going even further back, we were really surprised to see a still with BB-8 in the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman World War II movie.

No Caption Provided

Ghost (1990)

BB-8 also appeared in that infamous pottery scene in the 1990 Patrick Swayze/Demi Moore tragic romance Ghost. I guess we were all too focused on the pottery that was being made to notice BB-8.

No Caption Provided

Jurassic Park (1993)

We mentioned how The Force Awakens broke the previous box office record held by Jurassic World. BB-8 actually appeared in the first Jurassic Park movie and was seen rolling away from the T-rex.

No Caption Provided

Man of Steel (2013)

How could we have missed BB-8 in Man of Steel? You're probably thinking he was somewhere in the background during the Krypton scenes. It turns out he was actually in the background towards the end during Henry Cavill's big moment of anguish.

No Caption Provided

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

It makes a little more sense for BB-8 to have appeared in Marvel Studio's Guardians of the Galaxy. Both Marvel and Star Wars are owned by Disney so a cameo appearances isn't out of the question.

No Caption Provided

Furious 7 (2015)

The recent installment of The Fast and the Furious had a lot of over the top sequences. With everything going on during the movie, it's not surprising that BB-8's appearance was overlooked.

No Caption Provided

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

Fury Road was a pretty crazy movie with a lot of cool things going on. Some scenes had so much going on, it was easy to miss tiny details if you weren't paying attention or looking at the wrong place on screen. BB-8 actually spent a little time with the guitar-playing Coma. Maybe he rolled off the platform later to check something else out.

No Caption Provided

Did you catch all these appearances before? Now that we know BB-8 has been around for some time, we'll have to dig around to see if he's made any other appearances. Have you seen The Force Awakens yet? What do you think of BB-8?

*Okay, maybe we simply discovered these within our imagination.

It would have been better if there was a different photo used for each picture or that it at least had some expressions...

You made a mistake. That isn't Furious 7, its a still from Star Trek Beyond. That's Chris Pine on the left and Vin Diesel as a Ferengi. Makes sense Abrams would drop in a little BB8 easter egg since he did R2D2 before

And better lighting to suit the scene.

I heard he was present at Orson Welles's final interview, and sat in on the infamous 'Frozen Peas' sessions.
