This is just an idea I came up with and thought it may be kind of interesting. It seems that there have been quite a few debates about debaters and I thought about a tournament using various levels of characters. I really hope this gets some run and would love to see some of the serious debaters go at it using different levels of characters.
The Rules:
This is based on the game of chess. In the standard game of chess there are a king, queen, 2 rooks, 2 bishops, 2 knights & 8 pawns. For this tournament I decided to just use one of each character. So the teams will be made up of the following: No magic users except for the King you choose. Also this will follow the standard rules of no telepaths, telekinetics on a grand scale, power absorbers or power duplicators. You may choose characters from Marvel or DC. All characters used will be at their current states. Besides your King & Queen only one team member may possess energy manipulation powers. The upper limit for this is Havok(Alex Summers). No character below the status of Rook may possess higher durability than Luke Cage. All choices will use their standard equipment. No teleporters are allowed.
Choose one that fits each category.
King
Most powerful member of your team. Please don't try to use any Sky Fathers, upper cosmic beings, reality warpers, Celestials, demonic entities, magic users, etc. All choices will be evaluated. Must be male. May possess any energy projection talents you choose.
Queen
The second most powerful member of your team. The same rules apply for the King category. Obviously she must be female. May possess any energy manipulation talents you choose.Rook
For this category I am establishing the strength scale between Class 50-100 tons.
Bishop
For this category I am establishing the strength class as Class 25-50 tons.Knight
For this category I am establishing the strength lass as Class 10-25.Pawn
For this category the strength class is normal human up to Class 10 tons.
The first eight Viners to field a team will then be drawn randomly to debate against each other in a single elimination tournament.
