Battles Forum

I've been looking a the Battle section with randomly generated contestants. Some may possess similar powers(ie.Glamor vs Vision, Gemini vs various members of the  Transformers autobots), but to my mind, neither" the race is to the swift or the battle to the strong". Too many intangibles dominate any fight- age, experience, willingness to fight "clean or dirty"( in the final analysis even to take the opponent's life: few enough are willing to kill a foe- with the exception of Wolverine or the Punisher), even gender is a factor( a male opponent might "pull his punches" in a fight with Gemini or Glamor simply because they are women, but a female one might go all out-especially if they're villains to begin with). Also metal will  always be superior to flesh and blood( or whatever the equivalent is for Gemini or Glamor) notwithstanding shape/density changing abilities!

The art of Debating.
 
When you are debating in a thread should you ignore certain facts you might know about  a character if you are debating against them and the opposition does not bring it up. Or should you look at it as trying to find the most logical outcome and even if you do know something that would hurt your case bring it up. Not sure if this has ever been brought up before, of it everyone knows what I am talking about. Withholding evidence basically.
 
Do you debate to find who would win with all facts people know.
Or do you debate to win your side of the argument, it be wrong or right.
