Inspired by many threads, I wanted to have a shot. I've always found these scenarios fun to engage in. Its a fight for survival, meaning you take everything into consideration. Teamwork, craftsmanship, tactics, strategy, food etc.

Scenario

A very potent virus has taken hold of living organisms and are driving them to a state of rampancy. The human population is on the verge of extinction. However, there are safe zones around the world that have a cure for the virus. Those who are lucky enough to make it to the safe zones, live, unfortunately for the unfortunate, they die or turn.

With the Army, Navy and Air Force having their resources nearly completely depleted (meaning, low on man power, rescue teams, vehicular transport etc) it is impossible to save everyone.

That's where YOU come in. You've already made an 8 man/woman team and sent them on a rescue mission. With success, your team now has to bunker down at the allocated venue and wait for extraction. The bad news is, the next available rescue chopper won't be for another week. So your team must fight off zombie hordes for 7 days. It is crucial to make sure your team can work well together, can gather food, can repair barricades, can fight, can strategize and so on and so forth.

No Caption Provided

RED: Material for repairing and maintaining

BLUE: Weapons and ammunition

Rules

  • In character
  • Standard gear
  • No one above street level (No one around Spider-Man level, meaning; nobody who can match Spider-Man physically, stomp Spider-Man or even beat Spider-Man)
  • Your team is composed of 8 people (make sure they can work well together)
  • No anime/manga characters.
  • No super prep artists like Reed Richards
  • Healing factors are negated by the virus
  • Bullets won't run out but you will have to reload. Explosives and weapons that require special ammunition (trick arrows) must be restored from the armory (BLUE)
  • No one who has a super-powered armor set (Master Chief)
  • Your team has basic knowledge on these zombies
  • Win by surviving all 7 days

Zombies

No Caption Provided
  • Zombies are of "I Am Legend" archetype
  • Airborne virus has no effect on your team, but one bite or scratch will kill anyone on your team within 8 minutes and 23 seconds
  • These zombies or "vampires", as some like to refer them as, are as smart as the ones in the film (they will adapt, plan etc)
  • These zombies only come out during the night or whenever shade is available. Your team can only prep during day time.

Rounds

Night 1: 50 zombies

Night 2: 100 zombies

Night 3: 250 zombies

Night 4: 500 zombies

Night 5: 600 zombies and 100 dogs

Night 6: 1000 zombies and 250 dogs

Night 7: 1500 zombies

BONUS NIGHT:: 3000 zombies and 1000 dogs.

You're team gets 24 hours of preparation for the bonus round.

Does your team make it through the week? Why or why not? What is your strategy?

"No anime/manga characters"....what? Why?

- Robin

- Cooper (Ben 10)

- Batman

- Hawkeye

- Iron Man (no armors)

- Green Arrow

- Azmuth (Ben 10)

- Shadow Catbi

Oh btw, I win this challange with ease. Iron Man, Batman and Azmuth come up with crazy defenses and wipe out the zombies and then pass 7 days with ease.

I really hope I don't have to ask every individual human being why their team wins.

Azmuth, Reed Richard and Bruce Wayne, pretty much smartest men in the universe, well Reed and Azmuth are anyway. I'm sure they can build anti-zombie forcefields or something with little trouble. I mean, Ben 10 (as grey matter), using Museum artefects, created a bomb which gobbled up the entire castle and area around. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an impossible task for the two of them to build some anti zombie thing, or even a cure.

The rest in my team are basically muscle. And iight, imma chance Steel to someone....weaker.

@cjdavis103: Here's my 100% unstoppable team.

  1. Isaac Clarke
  2. Doomguy
  3. Marcus Fenix
  4. Wolf (Predator)
  5. Flashpoint Green Arrow
  6. Edward Buck
  7. Black Widow
  8. Boba Fett

Clarke, Predator, Doomguy, and Fenix all have experience fighting zombie-like enemies, and Buck probably has basic knowledge of the Flood as well. Doomguy has the most firepower and defends the main entrance, with Widow giving support. Pred, Fenix, Buck, and Clarke cover the sides. GA gives long-range support and Boba Fett gives aerial surveillance, long-range support, and heavy ordnance.

During prep, Isaac and Fenix effortlessly repair barricades and equipment and set up defenses, while Wolf and Fett lay traps. I believe Wolf has limited medical equipment, so he can serve as a medic if need be (though I doubt anyone is getting injured in the slightest). Ollie, Natasha, and Buck gather food while Doomguy stays to defend. With a few hours to spare, Clarke and Pred upgrade everyone's gear while Scarlett Johansson and Nathan Fillion hook up (the only reason BW is on this team). I believe everyone will work together seamlessly, except maybe Fett (who'd probably just try to leave). I believe Widow would be able to, erm, "persuade" him to stay. (Another reason)

Doomguy has enough firepower to potentially solo the first few days, so imo they clear with no problem.

  1. MacGyver
  2. Blade
  3. Snake Eyes
  4. Bullseye
  5. Domino
  6. Deadshot
  7. Punisher
  8. Deathstroke

Since gun users do not have to return to the blue base for ammunition, I tried to fell my team out with them. This way there will never be a weak spot in the defenses. There is also a good number of sword masters that could mop up any zombies that get through.

MacGyver can work miracles with limited resources and limited time. With a days prep he will have made bombs, defensive structures, ect.

This team should work together fine. I avoided characters that might have a problem with killing. They might see the zombies as humans with a disease that could be cured.

Nice. You don't think they'll eventually be overwhelmed by rush attacks? Say, if you bunker them down in the tower or one of the houses and you have 1500 coming from all directions, your team can pull through?

  1. Captain America
  2. Black Widow
  3. Winter Soldier
  4. Falcon
  5. Hawkeye
  6. Ant-Man
  7. Punisher
  8. Luke Cage

My team should have pretty great teamwork. During the prep, Ant-Man will destroy all the trees in the area and use them as barricades, this removes the chance of the infected attacking during noon. Punisher and Black Widow will set up mines and claymores. Captain America and Punisher will prep and place people accordingly. Falcon will work as look out. Luke Cage and Captain America will provide frontal defense, fighting anything that gets over the barrier. Black Widow, Ant-Man, and Falcon will also continue to bring ammo to all the shooters and also provide defend them from the occasional infected.
In case we get overwhelmed, Ant-Man will shrink himself and whoever else he can to microscopic sizes, Luke Cage will take a nap, and Falcon will fly himself and whoever is closest away.

Ultimate Hawkeye, Green Arrow, Captain America, Luke Cage, Nightwing, Punisher, Artemis and Arsenal

Daytime:

Captain America will handle tactics along with Nightwing, finding chokepoints, bottlenecks and easily defensible positions while focusing on keeping everyone alive. Nightwing will also be in charge of engineering any defenses with Arsenal and Punisher advising him on the barricades. Luke Cage will be the actual builder while Hawkeye and Green Arrow gather up the ammo they think they'll need.

Nightime:

Punisher, Arsenal and Ultimate Hawkeye are given the heavy weapons and positioned at the outermost defenses with Cage. With the sharpshooters accuracy and experience they'll hold the line. Luke Cage will take care of any breaches in the barricades. Artemis and Green Arrow will be set up further back in overwatch. They'll shoot and communicate to the rest of the team where the zombies are starting to push hard and keep the flanks secure. Captain America and Nightwing will be in charge of resupplies with their natural speed and agility they should be able to reach the weapons and ammunition area and get back without getting tagged.

If it was just the shooters than 1500 might be to much. But MacGyver is the kind of guy that makes bombs on the fly with whatever is laying around. By night 6 he will have used there unlimited ammunition to create enough bombs to do some serous damage.

  1. Captain America - loadout: shield (obviously), USP .45 pistol w/laser designator; the shield gives Cap great offensive and defensive capabilities. Using a pistol allows him to wield the shield much the same way a SWAT breacher uses his ballistic shield. The .45 round is big and does a lot of damage. Even if a shot isn't the most accurate (despite Cap's good marksmanship) it'll still stagger or stumble a zombie. Cap is an absolute leader and coordinator, and knows how to get even the most disgruntled soldier into compliance. Survival is the ultimate motivator for cooperation.
  2. Snake Eyes - loadout: twin katanas, trench knife, HK 416 w/EOTech sight and laser designator, USP .45 pistol w/laser designator; Snake Eyes is truely a jack of all trades when it comes to combat. He's a never back down, never quit soldier who has mastered hand to hand, melee, and ranged combat. By giving him the 416, he has a semi automatic quick firing weapon. It fires a 5.56 round, but with Snake's accuracy headshots shouldn't be much of a problem. The pistol is in case of being caught between reloads, and his blades give him reach and up close damage output. Snake is independent, and a team player. He'll do well in any roll. He has experienced "every training school the military can offer", in this case the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) training will have been invaluable. It trains you to fight longer and harder, overcome exhaustion, and how to maximize nutrition while minimizing food intake.
  3. Deadshot - loadout: SOCOM 16 w/ACOG sight, dual USP .45 pistols w/laser designators, trench knife; Deadshot doesn't need as high-capacity or rapid fire as most others here. Instead, I give him the ultra-modern SOCOM 16 assault/battle rifle. It is a short weapon, about as long as an M4 or Snake's HK 416, but has longer range and stopping power due to it's 7.62 round. Deadshot is accurate enough to line up several hits with one shot, and the SOCOM has a 20 round magazine, so he can take out multiple targets with one shot and the large magazine means he can do it over and over. It is dubbed by real life US Navy SEAL veteran Rob Roy as the "Zombie Killer". The pistols are obvious backup.
  4. Deathstroke - Promethium sword, HK 416 w/EOTech sight and laser designator, USP .45 pistol w/laser designator; Deathstroke is like Snake Eyes, all around dangerous and proven so. He can fight, slash, and shoot with the best of them. Giving him the ultra-modern M4 variant, the HK 416, he gets high capacity rapid fire capabilities like Snake Eyes. Also, like Snake, he may not share Deadshot's accuracy but is accurate enough to get easy headshots with an optic sight and high magazine. Slade is also a preservationist. He may not appear to always be the most cooperative teammate, but if it means his survival he'll place nice.
  5. Punisher - loadout: M240 machine gun w/bipod and M145 optic sight, Saiga 12 gauge shotgun; Frank is a survivor and master of any weapon or explosive. The M240 fires the 7.62 round with manageable recoil and a belt-feeding box system. Drawback: it's heavy. Frank can lay down a lot of hate, but he's going to be more weighed down than many others with too much gear. To counter that, Frank only needs the addition of the Russian made Saiga 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun. With a 10 or 12 round box magazine that can fire traditional buckshot or slug shells, Frank can quickly lay waste to any zombies that close the distance.
  6. Taskmaster - loadout: shield, SOCOM 16 rifle w/ACOG sight, USP .45 pistol w/laser designator, adamantium sword; With his ability to mimic others perfectly and being on the same team as Deadshot, he essentially becomes another Deadshot in the addition of all his other already-borrowed skill sets. Really, what more needs to be said?
  7. Michael Weston - loadout: HK 416 w/EOTech sight and laser designator, USP .45 pistol with laser designator, trench knife; Of Burn Notice fame, Weston is as much a brain as he is gunman. A former Army Ranger and CIA operator, Weston can shoot with the best of them. He's hit moving targets with a pistol at very long ranges. But as well as he can shoot, he's even better at thinking his way out of a situation. If you don't have to fight, or can minimize contact with the enemy, you lower your chances of death. That survivors instinct will be invaluable in this scenario. He also knows how to repair weapons or make new ones out of spare parts, and how to survive difficult scenarios by knowing what can or can't be eaten and how to treat wounds.
  8. Bruce Banner - Every Army needs logistical support. Banner is a near-unparalleled genius, capable of making incredible machines out of sparse components. He doesn't have any combat skills, but without someone to be able to consistently purify water or repair weapons in combat, your soldiers will fall. As shown in Indestructible Hulk, with little time he can build amazing creations to fit almost any need. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to do the same for survival purposes.

@_gaff_: MacGyver is pretty handy. But remember to note, these Zombies adapt and plan during their time away too. They have shown to be very cunning. Near the end, great numbers did overwhelm Dr Neville's defences (which were off the charts), c4 lined everywhere, high powered lights etc. Only a hand full got passed that, imagine what 1500 could do.

@granitesoldier Nice, I think teamwork with Deadshot would be a pain though. He doesn't really care about his team.

Oh and zombie dogs are probably more deadly than the zombies themselves.

Luke Cage is arguably at or below Spiderman level. I'll switch him out with Nightcrawler. Plan remains mostly the same.

@monsterstomp: Deadshot shares some similarities with Deathstroke, and you're right he isn't prone to cooperation. Usually. He likes living, and he is a selfish preservationist. He won't fight to the last man, but if he thinks he needs everyone else to make it out alive, he'll be cooperative if a bit unwilling. Cap is just the kind of speaker and leader to get him on board. I'm not saying the team is perfect, but between the cooperative skills of Cap, Snake, Weston, Banner, Punisher, and even Taskmaster and the narcissism and desire to survive of Deathstroke and Deadshot, I think they can rag-tag long enough to make it out of there. When they make it out, well, if they turn on each other then they turn. My goal is to get them through that week.

@dondave: I'm glad you approve.

@mitran: Captain Cold would solo. I don't think that's fair. He could take Spider-Man easily.

@mitran: Wolverine and Slade can't beat Spider-Man. Captain Cold would wreck Spider-Man and this zombie army. He could just put up a absolute zero cold field and whoever is caught in it dies, instantly.

Ok, if I am defending a fortress I do not want anyone who relies on melee combat, but I would want at least a couple who are good at it. So here goes.

  • Captain America
  • Legolas(DoS)
  • Hawkeye
  • Green Arrow
  • Robin Hood
  • Bucky Barnes
  • Deadpool
  • Will Smith(I am Legend)

Captain America for leadership mostly, but also in case the zombies manage to get over the wall. Legolas has insane range, accuracy, and rapid fire, having him on the wall would be a huge advantage and he would probably be able to take out several with one arrow. He also has good bladed weapon and h2h showings. Hawkeye and Green Arrow have trick arrows that would be able to kill or incap several zombies at once. They both are also decent in h2h. Robin Hood would be able to hit several at once, plus, if he misses, he gets a second shot. :) Bucky has good marksmanship feats, including sniping. He is also good in melee, and his bionic arm would also be an advantage. Deadpool can use any gun he picks up, and his machine guns and grenades would be a valuable asset. If things get close, he has swords. Will Smith has accuracy and rapid fire on his main weapons, and grenades. He would also have knowledge of the enemy.

In what way?

Let's see:

Speed, agility, flexibility, intelligence, spider-sense, and he is NEARLY as strong.

The only thing luke cage has is his strength, and unbreakable skin.
