*takes place after Marvel's The Avengers (Tony isn't suffering from PTSD)
Scenario:
Zod and his allies have exited the Phantom Zone. From here, they take all of the same steps (collect the weapons and the world engine) and then they stumble upon Earth. Zod views it as the best option to create new Krypton, so his ship begins to orbit the planet and S.H.I.E.L.D. detects it. Fury calls upon the Avengers (all of the standard crew we've seen thus far) and as they're talking about it, the world engine flies and lands somewhere in the Indian Ocean. Meanwhile, Zod's primary ship hovers over whatever major city would be on the opposite side from its location (for simplicity's sake, let's say midtown Manhattan).
As expected, SHIELD goes on full alert and the helicarrier is en route to the primary ship (let's say 10 minutes away). He and the Avengers have a half hour to react and generate a plan for both locations before the world engine is turned on and...well, you know the terrible things that happened when it does. They are of course unaware of what will happen once the 30 minutes is up and in the meantime, Zod's crew is not responding to communication attempts. Can the Marvel Studios' Earth stop Zod from turning Earth into Krypton? Can they generate a plan to save the day... or will it fall to Zod's crew?
This isn't your standard battle. Obviously, a lot is up to your imagination. What kind of plan could Cap, Iron Man and Fury generate? Do they have the resources required to stop this? Or will Zod's technology and forces prove too much? Have fun speculating but at the same rate, try to keep it reasonable instead of turning into an example of absurd fan fiction.
And in case you're wondering: no, Superman does not exist in this scenario.
