Stop at either 3 or 4.

@midnightdragon18: With no weapons at all? No, I stop at 7 most likely. However if hand to hand weapons are allowed, and I'm wearing my favorite jacket, then I clear with high diff. I keep a skinning knife in the pocket.

@midnightdragon18: I once stayed up until 4 o clock in the morning just playing video games... and I didn't take any breaks. I also once got a paper cut and only kept the band-aid on for 2 hours. I can eat an entire medium sized pizza by myself. Not to mention the fact that I once chugged 2 light beers in a row and when I was about to throw up I swallowed it back down. Should I continue?

I think I'd stop at 5, 4 would be tough but I think I could pull it off.

I'm pretty in shape for a 5'10" 240 lb. 50 year old, I'd lose to the boxer though just due to conditioning, and lack of formal fight training.

The lowest I have a chance at losing is 3 but I am pretty certain I would win (depending on your definition of an average male) but I would definitely stop at 7.

@midnightdragon18:

6. maybe 7 personally I don't see any fight as fair, you fight to win, and you win by any means necessary. simple as that

but id put the average mma over any boxer(outside the ring) I've actually seen a gold glove boxer get whooped on in a street fight by someone old enough to be his father. So unless both are playing by boxings Marquess of Queensberry rules he shouldn't be as dangerous as someone used to fighting with their full body..(holds/feet/knees/elbows)

The experienced boxer should be above the experienced mma fighter. I know Mike Tyson can knock any MMA fighter out clean. They have more striking power, swiftness, tactics, precision

not if Tyson fights like a boxer and MMA is allowed to do anything.. double leg takedown to ground n pound or submission move...what's a boxer to do? inside a ring I could understand but outside its a whole new fight

You know by looking into the eyes (Something boxers learned to do and never lose contact) you can see what movement the opponent is going to make, one hit from Tyson is all it needs to kill a man without gloves.

@elderskaar:

yeah but still, an experienced boxer will fight like a boxer(its what they know to do) so its not like Tyson would throw kicks or attempt to grabble a MMA fighter. He would only look for/see what he was accustomed too. He would stay just inside striking distance.. or die trying. MMA fighters can take some abuse, no boxer is going to one shot a MMA fighter. And their choices for dealing with someone like a boxer are far greater than how a boxer would look at the fight. There is so much more versatility in Mixed Martial Arts, if it goes to the ground(like almost every fight does) the boxer is at a serious disadvantage. MMA know submission holds, several fighting styles, and frequently use their entire body to fight where as a boxer is solely used to his fists.

Maybe on par with a rookie boxer, as long as he's not middle weight or above, I do practice kick boxing (though unprofessionally) occasionally in the gym. So I think I would definitely stops at 6.

@vashtanerada88: I agree that an experienced mma fighter would take an experienced boxer of same weight. But an average MMA would most definitely lose a fight there. A boxer with no gloves on is a dangerous, dangerous thing. For him to fight like that, suddenly his fists are smaller, get through blocks and deal a lot more dmg. Double leg takedown is a dumb idea even against an experienced street fighter one doesnt need to train to knee you to the face.

@chimeroid: agreeable, I was only using the leg takedown as an example, It's a wrestling move(I wrestled in my high school) but its far from the only way to get your opponent to the ground. And a Wrestler in particular, not even MMA, would look to gain wrist control and/or get close in on the boxer removing any momentum the boxer would have behind his punches especially when their locked up close. Maybe hip toss him or give him some elbows/knees. Point being MMA are versatile fighters because they fight all kinds of fighters, including boxers/kick boxers I'm not saying its an open and shut case, just that before the fight even starts MMA has the edge just because their mind is thinking of different ways to attack than a seasoned boxer would think.(you generally stick with what your good at, it's unlikely a boxer would attempt a move he wasn't familiar with unless he was forced into it) like trying to defend against submissions, grapples, counters, holds. Where as those are all second nature to a MMA fighter. (seasoned or not)

@vashtanerada88: i'm actually a rookie boxer and my friend john is a anverage mma(hes won a few tournaments)

Anyway me and him are currently 2-2

Round one i stomped him because it was strictly boxing

Round two i got stomped because kicks were allowed

Round 3 i got stomped again because kicks and grapples were allowed

Round 4 i managed to beat,but only because i have more stamina and im use to fighting him

@midnightdragon18:

cool, sounds like good times =). but what happened in those rounds is arguably to be a overall rough census to the fighting styles of both people. Kicks prolly helped your friend out big time(as it would most other MMA), front kicks to keep you outside of arms reach and grappling if it comes to CQC(ground scrapping). And for you, round 4 was helpful because you had conserved your strength and/or you generally had better stamina than your friend especially when coupled with the fact you two are familiar with what the other is more likely to do.

Where do you think you would be in this particular gauntlet?

But the Hobo should be just below the boxer, I saw a Hobo beat a Tae Kwon Do black belt once, it wasn't nice.
