You and your dad vs a fully grown grizzly bear.

Scenario: You and your family was camping in the forest..

you and your father decided to take a walk and find some dried twigs for the campfire.. unfortunately you have encountered a fully grown hungry grizzly bear you screamed for help and your dad rushes to your position.. the bear then tries to maul your dad and your dad tries to fight the bear off.

The bear is bloodlusted and won't stop until you and your dad is dead.

Can you and your dad defeat or survive one of the biggest predators in north america.?

You can choose only one of these weapons.. your father gets none.

I'd choose the katana and try to stab the bear in the mouth/snout/face enough that he'll leave us alone. Most likely get torn to shreds though.

@green_skaar: the bear is bloodlusted.. and just won't stop even if wounded.

I'd continue my strategy until it was dead than. Katana has good range and stabbing capabilities. Bears have been killed with less, but it's exceedingly rare. Again I probably die horribly.

10 meters? Bears can run up to 60 km an hour. We'll be dead long before we have time to think of a strategy..let alone gather our composure for a defense.

Katana. My dad being in trouble like this will only bloodlust me. That grizzlys head will be on my wall.

2. Okay..obviously you don't know much at all about grizzlies. They can in fact run 60 km an hour. They're big but unbelievably fast in a charge.

3. By the time your Dad brings up the gun to shoot, the bear will already be poised to maul him to death.

I'll take the machete. My dad could probably take a hit or two from the bear because he's a Fedex worker who lifts heavy stuff all day long and takes blows from my tantrum-throwing adopted brother quite a bit. I'll come up from behind, jump on the bear, and stab him in the back of the head. Win.

It does whenever you type nonsensical posts with no punctuations that come off as ignorant and unclear. Bears can in fact run down a hill(that's a myth)..which doesn't really matter since there aren't any hills in this scenario. Even if you're right about the speed (which you're not) 43 km/hr is a little under 12 m/s. So you'd still have at most a second before it's on you and your Dad. That's barely enough time to dookie yourself which is probably the only thing you'll do in this scenario.

Machate, those things are sharp enough to go completely through a Grizzly Bear's throat with a good stab. My dad and I win after he gets mauled. I would wait to attack the Grizzly after he charges my dad, trying to attack him in mid charged would just result in the weapon being knocked out of my hand. After that i would jump on it and stab it right through the throat. People have soloed Grizzly Bears before, their is a reason why humans are the greatest predator on earth.

I've read them before, sorry don't have any links. One was with a knife if I recall. Again, it's very rare and the human is usually severely hurt as well.

But if he was alive he would solo. Before he met my mother he lived in the woods, survived on what he could kill, had a beard down to his knees. (He hated to be around people, used to vomit when we went to Wall-Mart)

My dad's old and lazy. My best bet would be to throw him at the bear or use him as a human shield giving me the chance to shoot the bear in the head.

What Caliber is the revolver?

I take the axe. The knives are too small and the Katana is too flimsy. The axe is heavy enough and can cause enough damage that if my Dad distracts him enough I can strike a bad enough blow that the bear can win.

I think I would pick the spear....

A bear would destroy anyone the can grow up to 3 metres in height, and could way over 1000Ibs, even a 6ft tall fully grown man was trying to wrestle a bear and the guy said that it would be virtually impossible to beat a bear in a fight as there sheer power, even though this bear was toying with the man it would be virtually impossible to beat.

They can also run speeds can travel 300 yards in 15 seconds if their cubs are threatened.

Grizzly bears evolved in tundra and that is why it is adapted to go very fast as opposed to the black bear.

even though it evolved in the tundra it will still destroy barry sanders while running through the woods.

Grizzly Bears have better acceleration, and are much more agile in the woods then a human.

There claws can grow up to 6 inches. As they have 10, 6 inch claws it would be almost impossible to beat.

They also have thick fur to protect there actual body from bite to the necks, whether it be for fighting other bears or a pack of wolves.

They can run up to speeds of 35mph which the same as horses.

As to the question I would pick the Wolverine claws as a few jabs could be fatal to the neck, but as it has alltvof fur, it would protect it.

Also how big was the Katana as depending on the size of it could change my choice; also and what caliber was the bullet.
