I don't see how. X-Man has better feats. Also, when they fought, Cable won because X-Man burned out (I think). X-Man can no longer burn out, and Cable I believe can.

Cable is still limited in that his power will kill him. Marvel Girl is by far the weakest (currently) and least skilled. But she is the only one who never was in any danger of dying from being too powerful.

Does Cable also get his tech powers here? I could see him winning if he could use both his mutant abilities in combination with his tech abilities.

True. Though X-Man isn't in danger of that anymore.

What were the circumstances of Cable's powerup when he fought the Surfer?

@JediXMan:
When he fought Silver Surfer, he was without his technopathy powers. He had not reached his peak power levels either. He was planning on being a martyr by burning himself out. He just did not expect Surfer to come kick his butt and prematurely burn him out.

He reached that level due to his T-O virus being in remission, which gave him the chance to explore his powers. Once the T-O came back, it was just an afterthought to keep it under control. Like breathing.

It was not peak Cable because peak Cable dies under his own power. He even said that no human body can handle how powerful he can become.

Ah. So wouldn't X-Man basically be what Cable could be? He doesn't have the virus and he has that tattoo that keeps his powers from harming him.

Pretty much. I actually have not read recent X-Man stuff yet but I thought he no longer had a body and therefore will not have to worry about his powers killing him.

If Cable would have figured out that little trick, he would still be around.

That's true, too. He can only be defeated on the astral plane (.... I ignore the whole "Norman Osborn" thing. What an absurd piece of crap that last issue was...)

Who knows? Maybe that's how Cable will come back. Never know. It's how X-Man came back.

Very true. Especially with how Hope has been since his death. I am sure he will come back in some way to give her direction again. Cable is too cool of a character to put down permanently. Hell, he might just grow a new body out of that arm that was left over or whatever.

I still have the version that has the other guy as Vader in that shot.

When I first got the newest box set and saw the change, I was confused for a second lol.

I have both. I prefer the original version. I like it when it's old Anakin and Han shoots first.

I'm too ill currently to be certain of anything I say, but Cable also had his genetic code mixed with Deadpool's during "If Looks Could Kill", therefore he also had a healing factor to take care of his TO virus.

I loved that.

Weird thing is that after being reduced to infancy and AGAIN having Deadpool's DNA used on him, he seemed to be without the healing factor. They even wrote him as not having it in the post C&DP titles. Of course, I do not remember the events that brought him back.

First off, I like to forget about that. Thanks for reminding me (Osborn beating Nate....)

Second, he didn't exactly burn out. He lost the mental fight (........ GGRRRRRAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!) and reverted to human form. While he was unconscious, he was put into Osborn's machine - which, I believe, kept his powers in check. If he was conscious, I don't believe they could have put him into the machine. But I'm pretty sure he is no longer capable of burning out.

I thought he lost the fight because of Norman's "willpower?"

As I said, I think the machine was meant to keep him in check. Now I don't think they could put him in unless he was unconscious, but once in I think he couldn't get out under his own power. But it was all just a load of BS. When is he going to finally appear in the mainstream X-Men comics, like previews said he would?

Yes, that's true. That's why I say it was PIS. That writer had some issues. He called Nate near-omnipotent twice.

I would assume so.

I hope so.

@JediXMan:  That's weird that Cable burned himself out during the burnt offering but saved X Man by putting his power level together that burned out. But then again Cable's powers and skill vary from appearances.

X-Man destroys. Full powered AKA Shaman X-Man is far above Rachel or Cable.
