Scenario

Wrex and Grunt are informed that there may be Rachni in one of Tuchanka's ruined cities and go to investigate. They soon discover that they face unfamiliar and deadly creatures. Wrex and Grunt engage the first Xenomorph they encounter but the infested city begins to stir and more Xenomorphs begin to arrive in waves. How long can Wrex and Grunt survive? Could they kill or escape potentially hundreds (no more than 200) of Xenomorphs and return safely to camp? Could they take up defensive positions and survive the onslaught? If Wrex and Grunt are to die, how many Xenomorphs will it take to overwhelm them?

Rules

  • Wrex and Grunt are each equipped with an Assault Rifle (M8 Avenger) and Shotgun (Graal Spike Thrower) as well as their respective abilities and powers.
  • Wrex and Grunt are equipped with their standard armor.
  • Xenomorphs will attack in waves of no more than 20 but no less than 10 while pursuing the Krogans or while attacking the Krogans' defensive position.
  • The Xeno Queen will only engage the Krogans once the lesser Xenomorphs have been killed.

Give them the Claymore(?) Krogan shotgun or the Graal Spike Thrower and they clear it. Shields, armor and overall durability should see the Krogans through.

I had initially thought to give the Krogans a higher power shotgun like what you suggest but I thought maybe the higher rate of fire of the Scimitar would be better suited for the speed and numbers of the Xenomorphs. How long do you think they last with the current equipment?

The Rechargeable shields and Healing Factor of Krogan take this. Add in Wrex Biotics, and they clear.

Wrex's biotics will aid them here greatly and Grunt is damn near the perfect Krogan.

I apologize if I missed it, but how many Xeno's are they up against?

@deranged_midget: 200 Xenomorphs coming in waves of anywhere from 3 to 10 at a time while either pursuing the Krogans as they attempt to escape or assaulting the Krogans defensive position.

Would waves of 10 to 20 be more of a challenge? What if the Krogans had to battle a Xeno Queen?

With their gear, a Xeno Queen might be a deciding factor with increased waves.

I edited the battle to include a Xeno Queen and increased waves. I also updated the Krogans with a more appropriate shotgun, the Graal Spike Thrower. Its more powerful than the previously stated shotgun but with a slower rate of fire. It should make the increased waves difficult but will aide in the battle against the Xeno Queen.

They clear, but they're exhausted and near dead afterwards, kinda like Grunt and the Rachni. Wrex could buy time for reloads with his biotics and a really underestimated ability is Grunt's inferno ammo -- that stuff literally turns your bullets into giant spreading fire explosions. Each bullet has a 3 meter fire radius, combine that with Shotgun spread and you've got a nasty wave clearer in Grunt.

Wrex could buy time for reloads with his biotics and a really underestimated ability is Grunt's inferno ammo -- that stuff literally turns your bullets into giant spreading fire explosions. The Scimitar has been replaced with the Spike Launcher with the alternate weapon remaining to be an M8 Avenger. Might change it up a bit and considering the extremely slow rate of fire, it might be a downfall against the Xeno's.
