Coaches:Hercules & Asst. Coach Thor (Marvel), Diana & Asst. Coach Billy Batson (DC)

So, in light of the football thread and myself being an enormous wrestling fan, I took to creating an epic dual meet between Marvel and DC. Since It would be too difficult to utilize collegiate or Olympic weight classes, I took to organizing the weight classes via MMA/Boxing style. Each team will have 6 months of intensive training under their respective coaching staffs, at the finest training facilities in Asgard and Themyscira. Utilization of weapons/powers is strictly prohibited. This is collegiate, folkstyle wrestling.

SCORING

I'll assume most of you unfortunately don't know much about the greatest sport on Earth, so I'll fill you in on how you should score this dual meet.

DECISION: Earns 3 Points for the team. This means the match was close, within 7 points of eachother.

MAJOR DECISION: Earns 4 Points for the team. This means there was a decisive victor by 8 points or more.

TECHNICAL FALL: Earns 5 Points for the team. This means it was a blowout, but the opponent did not get pinned.

FALL: Earns 6 Points for the team. This means one opponent pinned the other, typically within the 7 minutes of regulation (3 minutes in the 1st period, 2 minutes in the 2nd and 3rd).

The dual will start at Lightweight and finish with Heavyweight. Which coaches will be feasting and celebrating in their great halls with their team once the dual is over?

Personal Opinions:

Lightweight:Peter Parker's agility and raw strength will be too much for Drake. Peter hits a sweet inside trip and locks him up for a fall in the first 30 seconds of the match. Parker FALL Drake (0:28).

Marvel: 6

DC: 0

Welterweight:First period gets very heated. Oliver coming aggressively at Wagner with a blast double, Kurt right back on his feet. Queen handfights heavy and continues to club Wagner, wearing him down. 2nd period: A quick escape followed by a hip toss with back points puts him up 7 to 1. Diana couldn't be more proud. He rides out Wagner in the 3rd with another pair of backpoints and picks up the Major. Queen MAJOR DEC. Wagner (9-1).

Marvel: 6

DC: 4

Middleweight: Lots of scoring attempts from both Summers and Grayson. A scramble towards the end of the first results in a takedown for Dick, he leads 2-0 going into the second. Thor not happy about the call, the refs as well as Billy waive him off. Scott hits a switch and takes a reversal early in the second to tie the match, but Grayson escapes to make the score 3-2. Dick chooses bottom for the 3rd and gets another escape followed by a takedown to win 6-2. Grayson DEC. Summers (6-2).

Marvel: 6

DC: 7

Light Heavyweight: Murdock looking cocky right off the bat and hits Todd with an incredible superduck to back, making it 5-0 within the first minute. Jason fights his way to his feet again and makes a few shooting attempts, which results in a slide-by for Matt due to his superior reflexes; 7-1 going into the 2nd. Murdock can't escape and gets ridden out the entire 2nd period! Hercules visibly frustrated. Matt locks up a bar-half combo in the 3rd and turns Jason an astonishing three times without getting the pin, putting up 9 backpoints to gain crucial team points. Matt seems disappointed he couldn't get the fall. Murdock TECH. FALL Todd (16-1).

Marvel: 11

DC: 7

Heavyweight: It all comes down to the big boys! Slade needing at least a Major to tie this dual up. The first period is a nasty exchange of takedowns and escapes. Wilson hits two beautiful singles on Rogers who escapes from both, hitting Wilson with a double of his own. Slade escapes right on the buzzer and both benches erupt when the refs give him the point. 5-3 Slade going into the 2nd. Wilson continues to lift and return Steve all throughout the second, with an escape and some vicious handfighting to close out the period 5-4. Slade makes a quick escape and begins to pour it on Rogers, knowing he needs the extra points. He takes Steve down and cuts him, twice. Rogers loses but hangs on just enough for his team! Slade DEC. Rogers (9-6).
