@killemall:
Agreed although i am not sure if the fight would turn out as one sided as that, btw are you aware of the instance mentioned? I could post scan so you could comment on comparability with Hulk.
Are you talking about the boxing matches? If not, feel free to post the instance.
I think that was just a throw away statement from Thanos, i dont think that was meant to show superiority or even equality for Hulk, but then thats the way i interpret it and of course my interpretation is just that, my interpretation and not a statement of fact. I couldnt really argue disagreement on that one.
I believe he meant that fighting Hulk in a physical fight like he was doing with a Power Gem'd Champion, would result into an unpractical match since he might be overpowered physically sooner or later. That said, i hardly doubt he was considering the idea of comparing Hulk's strength/striking force to someone with the power gem.
Although there have been odd occasions where Thanos has tried to avoid needless battle, including a recent one against Avengers after he got cosmic cube, he outright leaves as opposed to at least take them out. Avoid voiding un-necessarily even if he could win it has been pretty consistent to Thanos.
I understand and in my opinion, Thanos is one of the few characters that uses his smarts most of the time, just like Quasar. So, the deal here is, why would Thanos fight the avengers and give chances to things that might go against his plans, ergo, creating the possibility of him losing if he already has what he wanted? There's some things Thanos can't control, say, the degree of uncertainty... And that's something he's well aware of.
