World War Hulk vs Mongul

imma say hulk on this one bc mongul is about as strong as superman but he can't really take that many blows from him b4 giving in.

This should be interesting fight Mongul is the better fighter.His strength is great plus he has  energy projection. His skills are way above the Hulks and he faster. HULk is just a wild braweler who doesnt even fight half as dirty as mogul.

I'll admit, I don't know much about Mongul. I just know that he is a Gladiator that has taken on Superman and he seems to be a brute, hence the reason I put him up against World War Hulk(mainly for a Gladiator fight). So, IDK, different versions of Mongul.  Mr.J "

If we're talking current Mongul, then he loses hard. He lacks a wide range of feats to compete with this version of Hulk though he did handle New 52 Superman pretty well. If it's Post Crisis Mongul Sr, he also loses. The Bryne version of Superman was capable of beating him and we all know how much Bryne neutered Superman's powers in his run. Plus Cyborg Superman made Sr his lapdog and Hank wasn't as powerful as he was towards the end of his Pre New 52 run. And although Mongul Jr might be more powerful than Superman, Jr has still been manhandled by Superman on 3 separate occasions. Once during Ending Battle

Although Superman's range of powers give him a big edge, it's clear in these scans that Superman is physically superior to Mongul by a wide margin. It won't take long for World War Hulk to become too strong for any modern version of Mongul to handle.

New 52 Mongul definitely needs more feats.

Interesting thing to note is that Jr. actually trained Superman in order for him to face Imperiex. IIRC this training allowed Superman to tap into his "hidden potential" so to speak. I guess the irony is that without the help of one of his strongest opponents, Superman (post-crisis) would never have become as powerful as he appeared after his training.

Since this is Jr, my one question is if he has his rings?

@lvenger: Are the most recent showings from mongul lackluster? He has been consistently written as someone who take's on superman and smacks him around, granted he usually always looses but still.

@warlordeternal: True, Mongul did help him tap his ultimate potential so I guess allowing Superman to reach his ultimate potential should be added to his training resume lol. As for the rings, the OP says "No weapons, no armor(besides their normal get up)" and the Qwardian rings aren't standard gear for Mongul so I can't say for certain that Mongul would have them as part of his normal gear. They'd need to be specified to be allowed and if they were, Mongul would then have a slightly unfair advantage given how powerful the yellow rings can be.

Well his recent showings did have him go toe to toe with New 52 Superman fairly evenly so that is a decent showing. It isn't enough to give him the win over WWH but it's still good. As for his other showings, I've posted 3 occasions where Superman utterly manhandles Mongul in character once he's decided he's had enough, displaying a clear physical advantage over Mongul. That's something WWH can replicate for certain.

I hear ya. In that case I give this fight to WW Hulk. Even after Superman unlocked his hidden potential, he still considered Mongul to be one of his strongest opponents. So with that being said, I fell like the fight would start off fairly even and then in the end Hulk smashes.

All that you stated was pre-crisis mongul, nothing was stated in the op about pre-crisis? Funny how people like to jump to pre crisis mongul when measuring his feats?

He also got taken out by Krypto (which was Jnr, not snr). When has pre 52 stomped Superman? I know they've fought more than once, but when was it ever a stomp? Would be nice if it was stated what version of Mongul? Jnr? Snr? Pre or post 52?

The only time that happneed was at the end of Superman's training with Mongul Jr IIRC where Superman tricked Mongul with something and gave him over to Lobo I think. And the 3 encounters I've posted after that fight depict Superman absolutely owning Mongul with ease in a couple of pages. I don't remember any other Post Crisis encounters where Mongul has any kind of upper hand against Superman unless you'd care to enlighten me?

Eh maybe but when you see how easily Mongul gets owned by Superman, it's hard to see how WWH can't do the same in the same amount of time.
