A lot of hyperbole about Wonder Man but few notable feats. Beating the crap out of Ms Marvel is a good start in New Avengers Annual #1 but we'll have to see where he goes from there.
Iron Man is not so much more powerful than he is more intelligent, seasoned, diversive and experience.

Wonder Man based on potential but Iron Man based on precedent. Wonder Man definitely has the tools to take out Iron Man but that depends if he's jobbing or being underwritten as usual.

I think Simon could pull it off, but maybe before Tony decides to try sapping that ionic energy...or changing its wavelengths...or whatever else super genius guys would do to it...lol
Tricks are Iron Man's thing. It'd be like telling Batman not to cheat in fights.
I give this to Iron Man because he's got more variety than just brute strength and the intelligence to use it. If they slug it out by trading punches, then that's another story. I don't think Tony would fall for that though.
Iron Man recently one-shotted Wonder Man's ionic form with prep, but I don't know whether that containment method is now standard for him or not.
I would assume so. The suit and his enhancements would make a note of it automatically, and he would most likely put contingencies in place in case Simon ever throws a temper-tantrum again, or he encounters a foe who possesses control of ionic energy.
