@tourneymaster So I think Wolverine is definitely a particularly tough fight for Wesker, but Wesker still has definite speed and strength advantages that I think are strong enough, to where it could possibly lead to his victory.
First, Wesker was already a metahuman in Code Veronica. He could go from a standing position and travel about 20 feet before Chris could even raise his gun. His elbow strike to the gut launches Chris about 50 feet and has him slamming into the metal wall. Then Wesker clears the 50 feet himself in under a second. Wesker is given the Matrix blurring effect for all of his moves during this.
The ability to move 20 feet or even 50 feet at these speeds paints Wesker more as a general speedster almost, he can achieve these speeds with close to no effort, yet you are saying you think his combat is slower then his short distance dash? Isn't it more likely that Wesker in RE5 had more control over his power, and still never used the full amount because he didn't need to?
The strength shouldn't even be close with the way he ragdolled Chris in this scene. Later on he thoughtlessly hurls Chris 20 feet back hard enough to shatter a BOW containment unit. Those glass windows are completely bulletproof. This is Wesker using barely any of his strength at all. If pushed to the limit, he should ragdoll Wolverine 20 and 30 feet casually and overpower him in every way.
