Winter Soldier (MCU) vs. Rambo

John J. Rambo - M16, Bow/Arrows, Colt .45 Pistol, Rambo Knife

vs.

James Buchanon Barnes - AK-47, throwing knives, Tokarev Pistol, Spetznas Combat Knife

The year is 1984 and the Russians have been dominating world affairs with their super secret agent of death and destruction, the Winter Soldier. America decides enough is enough and are able to replicate the Super Soldier Serum that turned Steve Rogers from frail asthmatic into a Nazi punching fighting machine. There is only enough for one man, and it goes without question who is the right man for the job, John J. Rambo. After being put through a mental reprocessing machine that cures his PTSD he is given the treatment and gains all of it's benefits exactly to the level of MCU Captain America. Can he hunt and destroy the Winter Soldier on his home turf?

Rules:

- Both movie versions, Rambo gets MCU Cap physical stats

- Win by Death, KO, Incapacitation

- Both in character (Minus PTSD for Rambo)

- Unlimited Ammo, but must reload

- Begin a mile apart knowing the general direction the other is in.

- Both get standard gear to deal with the hostile environment (Ex. Snow Camo parka)

- Time transpires like in real life, no time limit.

- Things like hunger and lack of water take effect in real time and effect their fighting ability.

Setting: Siberia

Rambo, through the power of an 80's montage.

Winter Soldier, he's fast, strong, has a metal arm, he has so many gadgets and guns ALL THE TIME!

1. Rambo is just as fast and strong with the SSS.

2. They only get the gear listed in the OP.

@leo-343: Oh I see, Bucky still takes it. If he can fight H2H against someone with Cap's strength and speed , he can take Rambo. If he closes the distance he can punch through his chest. I'm pretty sure his reaction time is superior to Rambo's.

Pure H2H yeah I can agree, but Rambo is no slouch, and he is better at using the environment to his advantage/stealth. He can also set traps for Winter Soldier. Rambo's willpower and pain tolerance is also superior. it's pretty close overall IMO.

And more unstoppable than taking out entire armies single-handedly?

Rambo has Cap's physical stats to even it out.

Bucky fought Steve which is impressive considering Steve's physicals and fighting skill....but Steve was also holding back once he knew it was Bucky and still defeated him.

Bucky fought Black Widow (kinda) and quite frankly almost got killed immediately. If his goggles hadn't stopped that bullet he'd have been dead. Not really that impressive given Natasha is nowhere on his level physically.

Also the proper term is assassin, not assassinator. And that's cool, Rambo has a higher kill count dropped in the woods with little to no gear and no back-up against entire armies, and without the significant stat advantage that Bucky possesses.

@leo-343: I honestly think that it is pretty dang even. i am only arguing for Rambo because everyone is saying WS. I love both characters. Either could win depending how it goes down.

I'm going with Rambo. Dude was essentially a super soldier all on his own, and with the Erskin formula he will be mentally and physically tougher. Not to mention his fear (if any) would vanish completely.

The Erskin formula amplifies everything about a man. So if the formula made Cap great, it will make Rambo a monster. Steve in films was basically his ultimate version, so John should pretty much be Ultimate Nuke. At the age of sixty plus, he ghosted that pedophile General, lifted him up with one are, using his fingers, and tore out his throat.

Earlier, he killed five dudes with a bow and arrow, and before that he killed those pirates with a Damn handgun, while they had assault rifles and such. Remember, he was sixty plus.

@leo-343: Falcon, who dodged anti aircraft fire. This is from helicarriers that can target individuals.

Sylvester dies due to hypothermia

Rambo with the SSS would slaughter stomp WS. If it turned a weakling into Captain America a soldier like Rambo would far beyond anything WS could do. A case could be made for Rambo without the SSS.

Winter Soldier. Cap is a better fighter than Rambo and still had trouble with Bucky. The stat boost is nice but it still doesn't change the fact that Bucky has fought someone who is more skilled with SSS.

Bucky stomps. Unless Rambo can receive training from Micky beforehand.

@mtuske: Does Rambo have any marksmanship feats with guns? Most enemies seemed to just run at him IIRC. Been years since I've watched the movie.

Yeah he has some like taking out 5 pirates with vital shots before they can react. His aim with a bow and throwing knife are pretty solid as well.

Yeah but Bucky is good enough to bring it in to close quarters and is a comparable shot.

Rambo

Rambo, the destroyer of fodder........... goes down hard.

Rambo with Cap stats would wreck.

Rambo should take this. Rogers was a nobody when he got injected with the serum, so Rambo (with his many years of training and experience) should be able to take the Winter Soldier. No doubt about it.

Yes, to equalize him with Winter Soldier physically. This way it's all about skill and other intangibles. I think it's a close fight and could go either way.

If the stats are equal, than this is a stomp for Rambo.

He's fought on his own forever where as Bucky's training was in the army. He was part of Caps elite team, but you know, they had Cap.

Rambo's tactics are insane, WS was just an unstoppable powerhouse. Now Rambo is one as well.

Take away the enhancements and this is Rambo vs. Bucky, anyone really think Bucky wins that fight?
