It would be hard to fight that many people with just a knife as opposed to a sword. However, Bucky was able to fight a super human, so I'd think he takes it fairly easily.

Random Encounter? Well the OP almost implies that they're together as a unit , so if they're in an open plain Bucky dies brutally, but in an environment where he can separate them like the church he might take them handily.

Winter Soldier with ease. There were only 3 decent fighters in that whole group.

I don't see how them walking in on Bucky in a church is a random encounter.
