Hal is so bland and overpowered and fearless and good with the ring that I had to vote for him.
I will give Kyle points for being creative in construct making.
I'd have to go with Hal, but I also agree with this:

Alan Scott beats both, though. He wrote the book on willpower.

Kyle is the superior GL overall for me, but Hal likely has more "raw" willpower, if one can estimate such a thing.

Agree with the underlined, the second part may or may not be my fan boy showing. I'd say Kyle actually has more will power. Unlike Hal he never allowed the parrallax entity to gain control
It depends on if one would personally value more the life of a loved one, than the lives of random millions. It is an interesting dilemma.@Morpheus_ said:
@beatboks1: He did, in SCW. He required Hal's help to break free, too.And to add to that, Hal was in a much tougher place.

I guess that's somewhat true, but taking into account that they're heroes, that the lives weren't exactly "random" as they were his city and that we on the other hand are pretty much average people, I'd say that the latter would be worse on Hal than the former was on Kyle.

@ReVamp: They were his responsibility, no argument about that, but he still lacked a really personal connection to them, so to speak. I tend to agree Hal's reason for snapping was more justifiable, though.
I'm not sure that you can say he completely lacked a personal connection with him. While I definitely understand where you're coming from, I'm sure that the people he knew in his day-to-day life as Hal Jordan has an affect when the city was destroyed.

Kyle is for hipsters
LOL
Hal is the man when it comes to will power, which is why he's the greatest GL.

This is the most accurate evaluation in my opinion, and im somewhat of a Hal fanboy. I grew up reading Kyle as GL, infact the first comic I ever bought was when Kyle first got his ring in that alley and I can say he is definitely more creative and versatile, Hal mostly uses the same attacks with differences in intensity and size. As stated above Hal has the most "raw" willpower of the actual GLC excluding Alan.
@Killemall: After reading about Kyle becoming I got curious about what happened to the previous gl and picked that up next and I agree its one of the best story arcs ive read, especially since it tied in with the death of Supes which is another one of the best story arcs ive read.

Well i actually read the issue because it came as a prelude to Zero Hour Event, for someone reading Zero Hour late, given the fact that Emerald twilight is said to be a prelude everyone can guess it was parallax behind the scene.
But yeah best comics arc ever for me, and i am not even a GL guy.
