Who's the strongest in Smash Bros?

Based on canon, who's the strongest character in the Smash Bros. universe?

This includes all playable characters from the full rosters of all four games.

VG feats/versions only please.

So, for instance, you could quickly eliminate players like Pichu, Villager and Ice Climbers based on their VG canon.

Who would win a canon smash?

Kirby

Whoever the player is best at using

(Super) Sonic or Kirby

Ganondorf has a Chance but with Link, the person who has his one weakness, that rules him out

Kirby obviously.

It's either Shulk with the true Monado, Kirby, or Supersonic. Palutena is implied to be up there too but has little to no feats.

Not by default no, but he (or it) can be made playable.

@traskindustries: So can Master Chief and Goku, that doesn't make them canon characters.

What feat have Ness to be at the same level that Sonic who casually fight cosmic entities?

@shinjiro: Ness not only fought but beat a universal level enemy called Giygas. Granted he had some help from friends, but he's canonically the most powerful of them.

@juiceboks: Though to be fair the Earthbound crew didn't hold a candle to Giygas in terms of power (or at least their strength can't be realistically compared to him), considering it literally required divine intervention to defeat him.

@amendment50: True enough, though they were still able to hold their own for a while. Paula was the ultimate key to his defeat.

(canon) Sonic fought Solaris. Although he was helped by Silver and Shadow. It's still a great feat knowing that Solaris was literally destroying all time lines by just existing.

No talk about when he with his younger self fight an entity of similar proportions (Time eater) or when Sonic in base form tank a Black Hole (Sonic Colours)

Whoever has the Super Star.

I would say Super Sonic, but if Kirby can swallow him...

I'm not really sure but I do know that I am unbeatable with Mario.

@shinjiro: @juiceboks: @amendment50: Really, Ness also travels at hypersonic speeds like Sonic. First, learning the fast travel from that old hermit guy with the monkeys in the desert. And then he learns a faster, better version and he literally runs all across the globe. (possibly can be considered teleporting considering a few of the locations IIRC) The heroes in Earthbound (with the exception of Jeff/science guy) are all also massive psychics, Ness being the powerhouse. And Ness also gets his Franklin Badge...he should take this

Kirby aswell faced a universal level enemy. Granted he had the star rod to aid him but he has beaten planetary + level threats without the need of star rod. So top 5 strongest imo are as follows.

1. Kirby (with all gear he has the potential to be universal level since the star rod can kill anyone evil even if they are universal level in power)
2. Ness or sonic (ness has insane psychic powers) (sonic with gems is a beast)
3. Bowser (he has insane artifacts in his castle that are reality warping to some degree and his durability is insane)
4. Mewtwo (good psychic and some reality warping powers)
5. Tie bewtween link or ganondorf ( these two when they have their triforce powers are pretty high tier) They can probably go to number 4 instead of 5.

@vashtanerada88: What kind of powerhouse Ness is? because Sonic in base form survived a being inside of a black hole, and fall from the atmosphere like it was no big deal. And Sonic have been saying capable of go Light Speed and furter in videogame. Damn, he is evn capable of time traveling through just speed.
