Your not limited to just characters groups as well. But as for characters id go with thor.

Sinestro... don't think anyone's crazy enough to go up against him without some serious backup... one on one, against pretty much anyone sinestro will mop the floor with them.

i think Fantastic Four. They normally deal with cosmic beings such as Galactus which is one of the most powerful beings in Marvel.
