Who can beat Zoom? (Read OP)

@moonman78: KOing Wally is not a bad showing. But he literally embarassed three of the JL's top tanks (Superman, Hal Jordan, Wonder Woman) when he wasn't trying to "make them better heroes" like he usually does. He's a casual teambuster when he's not holding back.

Zoom's powers are described as him being separated from the regular timeline. He controls his level of speed relative to time at will -- that's why his text is always so blurry and weird, because he's consciously struggling to keep himself at a speed where he can communicate with all the people to slow for him. Wally does this, too.

@the_last_son_of_czarnia: A bad showing for someone is always a good showing for the person they're against. Steppenwolf is, never has been, and probably never will be again a light speed+ character.

@dredeuced: Pre-Crisis he took down Superman and Firestorm iirc. And it wasn't like he was keeping pace with the Flash, as you recall he surprised Bart with the backswing and Bart underestimated him thinking a couple Mach 3 punches would KO him.

@dredeuced: Which parts, specifically? As I recall Bart was winning and Steppenwolf had a forcefield.

@the_last_son_of_czarnia: Bart getting tagged with Steppenwolf's stun stick, getting straight smacked across the face after talking about how the Flashes take on impossible odds (this was after the backswing part, he just got straight decked by his axe) , getting tagged over and over again, never punching him again with a legit hit (the kind that phase Prime) despite getting in close to him plenty of times, Steppenwolf's axe being broken by...Roy Harper's freaking arrow instead of any of Bart's efforts, etc etc. He basically forgot that he can go massively FTL and punch really hard or anything. He didn't use his phasing at all despite using it against Griffin in the previous issues. It was a dumb, dumb, duuuuumb fight.

@dredeuced: maybe Van Sciver thought "Darkseid's uncle" and took off from there?

@the_last_son_of_czarnia: I dunno, maybe he just wasn't aware that Bart Allen was decking Superboy Prime in the crossovers. I wouldn't call The Fastest Man Alive the most consistently written Flash Arc.

Not enough to KO them or win a fight, because he hasn't. It isn't Surfers MO to kill or Superman's but these guys win fights against heavy hitters and have a well proven track record

While Zoom is very fast, he cant really hurt most I listed, and some he cant hurt if they're intangible. Then, even if they cant tag Zoom, they can just fly up and destroy the planet. Other than speed, Zoom like the Flashes is very limited.

As far as PC Superman, he's as fast as he needs to be for the plot.

I've seen all the "Zoom can't ever be touched" arguements. The Silver Surfer normally operates at speeds faster than light for a living, and easily dodges past astroids and etc. He's well above nanosecond reaction time, and his durability should more than allow him to stand up to Zoom for long enough to get whatever advantage he needs. Plus he has telepathy, BFR, etc. going for him.

Nate Grey can exist as psyonic energy and is more or less immune to physical attacks which are all Zoom brings to the table. Since he is also a telepath mind rape wont be a problem

More or less yeah. He evolves to withstand blows from zoom and will eventually evolve to counter his speed. Thats just how he works

You seem to underestimate characters that would beat Zoom.And Zoom(the user)was convince by Viners that Nate Grey would beat Zoom.

I don't read a bunch of X-Man comics but I'm currently operating under the assumption that Nate Grey is not invulnerable and is not as fast as Zoom.

I'd say Zoom (the character) would clobber Nate.

@dredeuced: I believe he was able to react to Bart due to his mother box which amped his reactions to fight him. Don't quote me on it but that us what I heard

@sharkbearagator: I don't think it was ever mentioned if that was the case, that said Motherboxes don't seem to usually help people with reaction before. Maybe there's a showing I'm unaware of.

If X-Man is still energy (never read a story where he was so somebody telling me about it a few years ago didn't stick in my brain), then yeah, he's got the offense to bring down Zoom and the defense to keep him alive long enough to do it.
