In my own opinion, Silver Surfer is an unbeatable HERO hands down (except galactus as he is a villain)cos he was endowed with cosmic powers that can manipulate anyone's cells and can make it dissolve or shrink. He can also exceed lightspeeds.  Can someone tell me who can beat him in the DC side? HEROES ONLY NO VILLAIN

And one thing, lets get out of the comic scene. I mean did the Surfer even tried to make Doom shrink or manipulate his cells? In real life or if ur Surfer u can manipulate Dooms cells right before he could grope u get ahead of him. Im saying in comics, heroes are flawed in real life who could defeat him? DC ONLY!@!!@!!!!!!!!

i think galacta's brother and sister beat him in the  Annihilation series

#7 Posted by warlock360 (28064 posts) - - Show Bio

yea but Silver Surfer got a power boost from Galactus and took them both after that.

Manhunter, Superman and Orion have too much of a vulnerable weakness to beat the Surfer. I mean he knew Gladiator's specific radiation weakness and I doubt Gladiator told him so he probably analysed the energies and found it out. I don't see why he couldn't do the same to Superman and Orion. Fire wouldn't be hard to manipulate with the power cosmic so I am pretty sure he'd get the Manhunter. I'd say the only person on that list who would have a chance is Black Adam.

Nice post but Superman's fought off Kryptonite before (when he took a direct hit from a kryptonite nuke and got right up to clean house) Plus. I dont know how he'd duplicate the radiation from a planet that he knows nothing about. Does that make sense?

Did you see what happened in The  latest Batman/Superman issue? that nuke was Silver age i believe....
#21 Posted by Ace High (625 posts) - - Show Bio

I doubt he knows much about Gladiator's planet either. I think the point is he can analyse his molecular make up and see what he is weak to, like in the JLA/Avengers crossover, Radioactive Man had no idea what Kryptonite was but after he was told he was still able to mimic the precise wavelength of radiation. I think how weak Superman is to Kryptonite depends on the writer. I mean Batman cleaned his clock with a ring made of Kryptonite. But I am pretty sure a full powered blast of Power Cosmic Kryptonite with a large area of effect will be enough to take him out.

#22 Posted by Jean_Luc_LeBeau (84704 posts) - - Show Bio

No this was modern Superman. I use to have the scans. But there somewhere around here in one of the Superman threads.

And no, are you talking about when he fought the Kryptonite Doomsday? I didnt see what happened.

#23 Posted by Danko (274 posts) - - Show Bio

Maybe Waverider..

#24 Posted by warlock360 (28064 posts) - - Show Bio

No gambler im not lol, the one after that, Lex corpse realesed bombs all over the world and set small kryptonite molecules free into the air circulation and superman was forced to retreat from earth and live in the watchtower in space. yet that nifty asian guy had some weird spider nano bots that cleaned it all up, all im saying is, even if its a little, superman IS effected.

1. Ion
2. Ganthet
3. Mxyzpdlk
4. Batmite
5. Sayd
6. Specter
7. The Other
9. Darkseid
10. Waverider

that's pretty much it, i state Darkseid because one blast of the Omega Effect would work, and incase anyone states that Surfer is 'vital to the cosmos' i'll remind you that he's only a herald and can be replaced at any time

I wouldn't call kryptonite molecules floating through the Earth's atmosphere a little. Batman wearing a Kryptonite ring is a little.

anyways, Silver Surfer has been proven to be vital to the universe in many  ways, hes been there together with adam warlock in the Infinity wars, annihilation wave, and many others...

I'm not sure anyone could really beat him. He's stated before he can drain people of their energy's, Maybe Specter could do it. Not really sure.

Haha dude the whole point of Final Crisis is EVIL HAS WON! With Darkseid's face like :D His main goal in life is finding the ANTI-LIFE equation! How can that not be evil!

I would...

i've said it before and i'll say it again, Darkseid is more a neutral force than anything...

besides, while Darkseid has killed untold millions of opponants, Superman has inadvertantly killed that many, even more perhaps with his strict moral guidelines and refusal to do what needs to be done...

even ignoring the fact that with his powers he has the chance to fix the entire history of the DCU so that no one ever died of a unnatural death, if you just count up how many people have actually died because he wasn't willing to kill villains who killed hundreds of people every time they escaped...

think about it, how many people has Barrage killed? or Luthor? hell, even count The Joker, Fatality... count every villain in the DCU that Superman could have easily stopped the first time round and refused to... then add all those figures up...

i'll put money on there's more blood on Superman's hands than there is on Darkseids...

at least the Green Lantern Corps have finally accepted this and have started killing their adversaries

Even when Superman fights, there's bound to be a building that gets knocked down. How many people live in a building?.... quite a few if you ask me.

So saving a building is above saving the world? okay...

beings that i know for definite Superman has killed...

1. General Zod
2. Faora
3. Kru-el
4. One hive of Xenomorphic aliens... numbered approximately 14,000
5. 17 Imperex Probes, as defined as 'living energy' several times
6. Doomsday
7. Mxyzpdlk

those i know off by heart but i can probably get more if you really want...

Voidheart said:

doesn't matter...

say one skyscraper contains 10,000 people (conservative estimate)... and during the fight with Doomsday, when there was noone 'clearing up' after them, the death toll was in the millions, as reported afterwards in the Daily Planet when they were 'resuing clark' from a collapsed buliding...

all because Superman didn't take the fight out of the planet or into a deserted area...

so that's millions of dead on Superman's hands...

who cares?

it's still murder nomatter how you paint it...

Darkseid does nothing less but he just refuses to give people the chance to threaten his world or upset the order he has created...

read Superman: Darkside sometime

Doomsday would have killed the entire world 6 billion people, are more than 10,000.
