Who can beat Thanos (without IG)?

Hello Comicvine,

It's been a while since I've followed comics, about 2 years. Can we list characters who can beat Thanos? Assuming he does not have the Infinity Gauntlet.

Is this the right forum/board for such a topic? If not, can you point me in the right direction before deleting the thread? Thanks!

@warmachine4life: For one Thanos can't die. Surfer is a tier bel i w him. If Surfer was able to do that to Thanos who resists black holes he would have. It generally ends with Thanos rag dolling him.

Whis is the only character in current DBZ or in GT that I think could take Thanos. He knocked out Lord Beerus, who is at least herald level, effortlessly. He was fast enough to toy with Goku and Vegeta, who were both fast enough to dodge beams that were MFTL. He also has those broken time powers.

Thanos get's dealt with by Cell in canon, like Thanos can handle a solar system buster lol, he rather not even fight Gladiator and GT LMFAO you seriously bringing anime into this ? in Frieza in anime would crush Thanos without items or IG

Where do I start...

Black bolt is able to rip holes in reality by screaming (like Buu only better) and can destroy solar systems without going all out. Thanos survived his screams to the face point blank and was able to cover his mouth, holding back enough force to destroy a planet with his bare hands. He also beat Black Bolt down despite him having enough durability to survive a bomb that RIPPED A HOLE IN REALITY SEVERAL TIMES LARGER THAN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM.

Not to mention he has mind-rape abilities which Cell has no defense against at all.

Oh yeah, he also fought on par with goddamn Odin. That alone makes any more debating pointless, Odin is galaxy level.

Black Bolt need a machine to amp his scream just to cause a hole in reality the size a fist, where Gotenks and Super Buu was easily big enough to fit a body or 2 inside with just there scream alone without needing any help. And Black bolt didn't rip anything apart from his scream on Thanos also, meaning he was not putting fourth the same power as when he can tear a hole in reality. And holding back enough force to destroy a planet lol that's pretty cute for DBZ standards, seeing how Frieza took the spirit bomb in 50% form which had enough force to crush the planet also. And he got one-shot by Trunks with a single attack. And they are one-shot material for imperfect Cell let alone SPC

Mind rape abilities ? like when he tried to do it on the Hulk, yet Hulk and Bruce banner where getting the best in there encounter ? or what about when he tried to read Annulius mind, lol he wanted out of that, couldn't handle all that evil thinking. He is not mind raping someone on Cell tier and no defence ? Vegeta easily broke out of Bibidi mind control in his SSJ form, and Bibidi can talk to entire planet with ease, Goku while fighting Frieza intercepted King kai conversation who was in another dimension. I don't see Thanos preforming TP abilities on that tier, especially if he needed a machine to amp his distance with his TP.

@sun-wukong: @racob7: Odin did not defeat Thanos but saying they battled on "par" is incorrect. Thanos put up an excellent fight but was clearly losing.

As far as TP goes, has Cell shown TP resistance? Bringing up Vegita TP resistance means nothing in this fight. Superman is stronger then Batman but Batman has better TP resistance feats. If Cell has none we can't assume he has TP resistance.

@pooty: Thanos lost man, plain and simple, he done a little well but got overpowered and taken out. Though in marvel many guys do well or survive an attack from a big gun, like Beta Ray Bill surviving Galactus attack yet taking much more damage from the planet attack from stardust.

There TP resistance comes from Ki, as shown when Vegeta powered up in SSJ, he broke out of Bibidi mind control completely. They use the same source of energy. Cell has there genes inside of him, so whatever they can do, Cell can also do
