White Lantern vs The Heralds

Kyle Rayner has gotten a bit of a reputation since he acquired the White Light in the New 52, but how much of that is sizzle and how much is steak? Best way to find out imo is to have him run a gauntlet.

Fight Locale: Outer Solar System (Sol)

The Rules

• Random Encounter
• Pre Flashpoint feats are valid for Kyle.
• Kyle may not use any feats with the entities or with the life equation.
• Kyle is fully rested between rounds and starts each round with a 100% charge.
• The Heralds Have Perfect Teamwork.
• All Combatants are in character
• Winner by KO, Death, or Incap
• No BFR
• Starting Distance: 10 miles

Round 1: The Elementals

• Terrax
• Air Walker

Round 2: Cosmic Flames

• Firelord
• Nova

Round 3: Heavy Hitters

• Stardust
• Fallen One

Round 4: Top Tier

• Morg (WOL)
• Silver Surfer (Post Annihilation)

Should he clear Kyle will face one more challenger; a foe who will take the opportunity to try and murder the young lantern and steal the ring for his own nefarious purposes:

Bonus Round: The Mad Titan

• Thanos (No artifacts)

Can Kyle clear or does he fall before the might of the Heralds (and possibly Thanos) ?

Fallen One could give Kyle fits but he's completely insane so Kyle should make it to the top tier.

Not sure if he clears though.

I say stops at 3 or 4, and even Kyle's ability to re-write the Source wall; shouldn't do anything here I think...

Kyle should beat all of the Heralds.

But he most definitely shouldn't beat Thanos.

@theendgame: I'm having a hard time determining that as well, I think he could take either 1-1, but I'm unsure if he could take 'em together. Thanks for commenting.

@kingant27: Thanks for stopping by. I took it out more because I didn't want anyone saying he just 'poofs' people out of existence like he did against Oblivion. Any reason you think he stops where he does?

@sovereign91001: No problem man, and yeah that ability while extremely immpresive, I am not sure would have the same affect or have the same influence; on someone from the Marvel Universe etc...

Stardust has proven he is easily a top tier herald, and the Fallen One's only plot way of loosing to Thanos effectively was via TP, so even though White Lantern Kyle managed to take on the Guardian's etc, I think 3 might be a stopping point, and if not there; he stops at 4 IMO...

technically all of the heralds would have the power sets to beat kyle but only the Surfer has the feats to beat him... Surfer would be the only one whom a clear cut win over kyle tho... so he clears til four and gets beat by surfer and morg... Thanos would wipe his boot with kyle...

So above Herald level but below Thanos, that's gonna make him hard to place tbh.

Any reason why?

@jmarshmallow: WOG Morg alone could probably beat Thanos, or at least be on his level, so how could adding Post Annhilation Surfer not be at least a 'possible' stopping point; however he definitely stops at Thanos in your opinion?

Do you mean by draining? That doesn't really work on the (current) white ring.

@sovereign91001: In placing him, he's above New 52 Captain Atom according to most, though he's below Thanos, probably around Silver Surfer level

Agreed Fallen One is beastly, in the Guardian's defense Ganthet has some pretty high end feats under his belt, what with SM Prime and the Anti-Monitor.

Yeah, he's kinda just in that Transcendent-esque level right now. I'd put him about a tier under Darkseid IMO. It gets super hard to gauge them once you get up in those levels.

Morg beating Thanos? I can't recall any super impressive feats that would suggest he can beat the guy that literally toys with Surfer. WOG Morg vs Surfer would be a decent fight as it is. Morg would win, but not with the ease that Thanos does.

And it's not going to be easy for Kyle to beat Morg and Surfer. However, I do think he should be decently above Herald level.

@jmarshmallow: I don't think you've heard of WOG Morg, or his feats...

Morg WOL beat all herads, such as:

Silver Sufer, Nova, Terrax, Airwalker and Firelord, so that is Thanos level no doubt; and adding Post Annhilation SS is easily Thanos level if not above...

At the moment, I could see him having difficulty with SS but still perhaps edging it. Thanos would probably be a challenge on the otherhand, bit unsure to be fair...

That is Thanos levelish, bearing in mind heralds like the Fallen One where more than a problem, before he used TP, and all those Heralds together lost to him; which is is something Thanos might accomplish...

SS has had a big upgrade, and a non-holding back current SS, would not fall so easily against Thanos, assuming he fights smart, also SS has used things like to power of the Big Bang, which have taken out beings above Thanos, so SS does have to potential to beat someone like Thanos; just on Comic Vine those type of feats get ignored etc...

Also the addition of someone else on his level will more than likely be too much for Thanos etc...

So there isn't a battle...life equation is now part of the White Lantern.

@matchesmalone21: All of his feats prior to his trip into the source wall, if you'd like.

3 or 4, standard WL without source Kyles best feat is killing Mogos brother which a lot of these guys could probably do. All he really can do is use the entire spectrum and has a bit more power than most lanterns, plus can recreate things (he failed to do so actually but its in his potential).

He stops at Round Four. He shouldn't get past Silver Surfer especially when he harnesses the power of the Big Crunch/Big Bang.

My Airwalker bias is killing me... Airwalker soloes.

on a serious note. Probably stops at 3, more than likely stops at 4, Thanos punches him in the throat.
