Naruto has progressed very far since his pre-timeskip days, and could contend with (if not necessarily win against) many of the big baddies of DCU at this point.

I'm gonna go for a stretch and take account into any hype Naruto might have and say Pre 52 superman.

@Loki_D: Superman has flown through black holes, so even if the orbs are fast enough to hit him before he blitzes, the damage it will do to him is going to be minimal. That is assuming naruto can even conjure them up before he gets knocked unconscious, unless he is out of character or bloodlusted or something, in which case superman can easily one shot him with punches that shake the planet.

I've seen some good arguments for him taking down New-52 Superman. Naruto has mountain destruction+ attacks and country level destruction capabilities. Despite all of Superman's high end showings even he can't shrug off a mountain busting+ attack without taking some damage. Plus Naruto is a better fighter, has a wide variety of attacks, insane combat speed ect. He could bring him down IMO.

Just because someone has the capability does not mean they will immediately use it and nothing else, when in character.

You are assuming he will not dodge the attacks. This is not that game Robin Hood played where you hit me, then I hit you back and see who falls first. (Finally got to use it, oh yeah)

Being a better fighter is great, but kind of irrelevant when your opponent has faster reaction and moving speed, and is miles above you in strength. A wide variety of attacks =\= all attacks will have a different way of hurting him, it means some of the attacks are either lacking in offensive power, or are too slow to him him for it to work.

I am not a Superman expert, and far from it. But from what i know, New 52 Superman seems to have too much raw physical power for naruto to put him down.

I think at the absolute height of his power, he could take or stalemate an in-character New 52 Superman with extreme difficulty. After all, he did tank a moon level attack with zero damage in BSM (which is below Rikudo Mode, his peak) his casual attacks are easily large country level (which wouldn't kill Supes would definitely hurt him) and his final attack, along with Sasuke's, was stated to have shook the planet and was shown ravaging dozens of countries. Not to mention he is way to versatile, what would Superman do if his opponent suddenly transformed into a naked woman? He would stop in confusion only to see Naruto shapeshift back and teleport behind him and attack.

But all kidding aside it is beyond reaching to assume that naruto can even begin to compare.N52 Superman has planetary+ strength, his casual blows can level mountains his harder blows can shake the entire planet, he has greater speed feats in almost all categories(Reaction,combat,travel), he has the durability to survive in and escape black holes and just recently survived a planetary explosion(not that its any better than the black hole feat), his freeze breath can freeze at the atomic level as shown when he froze ghost soldier(intangible) who also phazed a knife into his heart. He has the power to Outright STOMP naruto.

He can shrug off Mountain busting attacks.Superman is also ridiculous much faster as well and would punch Naruto's head off

if comicbook writers were actually being realistic to a point on their characters, anyone with superman's level of punches can kill beings who don't have the durability to endure it. just because writers don't show it like toriyama did would we equate that he can't do it.

canon disputes and alternate universes aside, when you are on superman's level, the argument that he can't punch through someone is moot. we maybe grounded on feats but context shows he can do it easily.

Naruto doesn't really need to match Supes' striking power. He has reality warping and other hax. I don't think Naruto is on par with top-tier supermen but he could wreck a few of the low-mid tier ones.

Action comics Superman, Golden Age Superman and DCAU Superman wouldn't stand much of a chance.

Smallville's interpretation of silver-age superman, before fully maturing might not be able to defeat Naruto.
