Yes it will work, the only reason the DN was only used on humans is because there are no aliens in Death Note. If Goku can has a name and a life span than it will work. Saying the DN won't work is like saying Jesse's word won't work because Genesis only influenced humans.
ok look if goku tries to punch superman anywhere it be punching something that anyone can guess that its a million times strong than steel or more. Goku's hand will explode leaving him with no fists the same with his legs. If he tries to use ultimite spirit bomb which I can guess it equals a super nova it still won't affect superman and im talking about the modern age superman. He endured it. If he does anyway superman will hold his breath and can hold for hours in space while goku cannot and will die just like a human. If superman lays at least one punch on goku its game. he will be obliterated. Its as if he were pillow that went kaboom. If your talking about superman silver age man this fight ends in an instant one of his super sneezes blows up an entire solar system and goku is not that stupid so in the end superman wins

hmm not really it is stated in the show only shinigamis can write any beings name but humans can only write other humans.
since no one specified as to when these fights would/could occur...i'm going to quickly point out how wrong you all are....
Goku at the end of GT is pretty much fused with the dragonballs (the more powerful space ones on top of that) so good luck to all those Cosmic beings....it wont matter how many times you kill im he'll be back (or he'll just make a wish to himself to wish you dead LOL so if anything it'll be a perpetual stalemate with the Beyonder...(shakes head at himself) and i say this despite my hate for GT
