War Machine vs Steel

lol - Robin considers himself Batman's "partner" too. He's a sidekick.
It doesn't matter what Robin himself considers. Batman created the role of Robin as a sidekick, to assist him. The situation isn't the same as it is with War Machine. Bad comparison.
Batman taught Robin everything he knows. Trained him. Tony didn't teach Rhodey anything. He didn't train him in anything. Rhodey replaced Tony as a superhero for a little while when he first put on the armor. Tony never made the armor with the intention of making Rhodey a sidekick.

They bring in a guy with the exact same powers as Iron Man, Tony Stark, except Tony built the suit for him, wore it first, has the same powers in his suit, and has the cooler looking costume - but War Machine is supposed be on equal footing with Iron Man? .... riiiiiight.
Plenty of things wrong with this post. One, War Machine doesn't have all of the same powers (or should I say weapons and applications) as Iron Man does. That's incorrect. Two, nobody said that War Machine was on equal footing with Iron Man (Iron Man is clearly superior to War Machine, as far as the armor goes). Fact of the matter is this. War Machine was never a sidekick. He's a superhero, like Iron Man.

He's not. The kryptonite in his chest makes him a threat to Superman, making it possible to fight him. His overall strength level is unknown. He hasn't done anything that would put him at Superman's level of strength.
Actually no..that would be false.Human Torch is an android.Iron Man and Steel are MEN who wear technologically advanced armor.Iron Man is the prototype for armored superheroes.@ vanceastro - I disagree. I mean, if we go back far enough, we could say every technologically driven super hero is a just a more human version of the original human torch. Ignoring the single, obvious similarity between Steel and Iron Man - that being they fly in super-powered suits of armor - and moving to other defining character traits, we've got John Henry Irons, a steel-drivin' - man vs drunk rich kid tony stark and his buddy James Rhodes.
This version of Steel, from JL new frontier, is cooler and more interesting than any version of war machine. Standing up to racism in the southern united states makes for a far more compelling character than "man who puts on Iron Man's armor and gets his own comic" - which is what happened with War Machine. The cannon version of steel, being a tech genius who was saved by and inspired by superman - to the point where he designed his own (very cool looking) costume and got out there to fight crime is also pretty awesome. There was a line in an old Steel comic, "If everyone superman saved did that, there'd be no crime anywhere". Steel is a living example of how inspiring a figure Superman is - and he fights racism as well as crime. War Machine is just a dude in a grey version of Iron Man's armor.
Steel crushes War Machine in no time. His hammer will be the deciding factor & he will put more than 100 dents on the armor and the man inside.
Sorry to say this....but WAR MACHINE lives to see another day! Or as I'd like to put it, he lives to see Stark troll around another day xD
Steel easy.
