Volstagg vs. Abomination
Fight takes place in the forests of snowy Latveria.
Volstagg is Durable enough to take hits from Ragnarok & Fenrir
And Strong Enough To Overpower 10-15 Trolls (When One Troll is Nearly As Strong as Asgardian God)
With His Magical Sword i'm sure he can fight with Abomination and Kill Him
I think abomination can tear down Volstagg limb to limb, that dude is insanely powerful =)
Volstagg has a slim chance. He would have to use his sword and use it fast. Abomination is no weak foe.
Obviously Abomination is anywhere from three to four times stronger then the Asgardian, but this isn't an arm wresting contest, it's a battle! Strength counts for a lot, but it's not the only category. Volstagg has surprised me in the past, and THOUSANDS of years of combat experience fighting trolls, giants, ogres, and other nasty things in the 9 realms makes you a pretty capable fighter. What we have to keep in mind if that Volstagg may not be as strong as Abomination, but he's sure strong enough to hurt him, especially wielding a Asgardian sword constructed from Uru. Volstagg can also take a hit! He took some of Ragnarok's best and kept going. Volstagg is the superior fighter, is armed, mounted, and wielding a magical blade. It'll be a good fight, but Volstagg just might end up taking off Abomination's head! But this is only my opinion.

The man makes some valid points...
I'd say Volstagg has a chance against the old Abomination. CW Abomination, I don't think his experience in battle will be enough to overcome the deficit in power in that situation.

Volstagg for the win, strength doesn't matter much. Are you serious ? He cant even beat HULk much less Abomination
Volstagg loses.
He is NOT cutting a 2000lbs+ creature in half (who can survive a nuclear blast I might add) with his 'magical' sword. He may cut him, do collateral, but nothing that won't heal within mere moments. Abomb's HF is probably stronger than Wolverine's ATM as I believe someone mentioned above.
Abomination can bring a city down if he had a mind to. Sorry Volstagg ... you'd need the Warrior's Three, and then maybe even a little helping hand from Thor (just a little cuz Thor is huge overkill though).
And on a serious note Abomination will break Volstagg down systematically without much trouble he really would crush him@termiteone4ever said:
@BigCimmerian said:This is not the point. In their opinion, Volstagg is durable enough to take first Abo's punches and cut his head off. Normally Abo would be too durable, but Volstagg's sword is magical and it was able to take combined attack from all U-Foes.Volstagg for the win, strength doesn't matter much. Are you serious ? I agree with them that Volstagg is durable, but I don't agree that he would win. Abomination is fast enough to evade from Vol's attack. And that would be the point of this battle.
Besides:

So are we using undead Abomination powered by Chaos King which feeds on Hate ?
Or normal Abomination which gets his head chopped off in few minutes ?
Volstagg Fighting with Trolls is from
Warriors Three #2
With That Giant Bomb is From Warriors Three # 4
Well i have not seen Ares lifting heavy things except when he lifted car and beat Hercules with it
Abomination has a very impressive healing factor, but then again, so do the Asgardians, so Volstagg has a degree of healing himself. Obviously, Abomination is only stronger then Hulk when he is in the most early stages of anger or emotional frustration. Unlike Hulk, however, Abomination's strength stays at a pretty neutral level and is not affected by his emotional state. When Hulk gets mad, he almost always gives Abomination a real good thrashing.
Now, Volstagg's sword, Brandrheid Undrsigr, is indeed a formidable weapon. It's constructed from Uru, which is a unique metal to the dimension of Asgard, and is the same material that Mjolnir and Gungnir are made out of. They can store magical energies and withstand enormous amounts of physical impact. When Thor tangled with Hulk in the past, strikes from Mjolnir were typically VERY effective against him. Strikes from Brandrheid Undrsigr would probably be rather effective against Abomination. He doesn't need to necessarily cut him in half, Volstagg is a warrior and no slouch with a sword; Abomination won't nearly be as capable of an opponent missing a hand, or an arm, or half a leg, or a mixture of any of those. A killing stroke would be soon to follow there after.
As for Volstagg's strength level... It's typically noted to be around the 35 ton range. In his prime, however, it probably surpassed 55 or 60. My guess is that Volstagg occasionally retains some of his old grit at times and is able to break his initial strength level.
@termiteone4ever: Hulk can beat Abomination.NOw i know hulk has defeated abomination a few times but abimination has always been trouble for the HUlk. it was never an easy fight . its not always a win for the hulk

either one of them can beat him Cutting Abomination is nothing u just assume abomination is going to let that happen. This battle has to be physical and Abomination and hulk was on the same level in terms of fighting and power. Well now a days the scales have tipped a bit.
The Expert of all things Gods and Gamma Monsters has Spoken. The Lion of Asgard is severely overmatched against the Abomination. Abomination wins. Easily.
