A battle of the....well they actually don't have many traits in common.....Verroq did briefly possess a sword in the Golem's Eye though....that'll work. A battle of the swordsman!

Scenario one:

  • Eragon is human, no enhancement from the dragons. Basically assume, he's as he was in Eragon.
  • He is allowed to use magic, but he's limited to the things he's displayed in the first novel aside from instakill spells.
  • No telepathy
  • Verroq isn't allowed the usage of the Seven League Boots.

Scenario two:

  • This is Eragon after Eldest and his enhancement from the dragons.
  • He's allowed to use magic, but deathwords, and other instakill spells are restricted. He's also limited to the feats of magic displayed before Inheritance.
  • No telepathy.
  • Verroq is allowed usage of the Seven League Boots.
  • Verroq has basic knowledge of Eragon's magic.

Who wins? If you need feats just ask me.

Eragon absolutely demolishes him in a swordfight. He again curbstomps him with magic if it's all out, he'll detect that the opponent he is facing doesn't have magic and simply snap his neck with jeirda, or catch him on fire. . .

@brightsteel: Jeirda isn't an insta kill. It's a magic attack similar to TK. How the opponent dies is up to the magic user, they could simply hurl them into a wall, shatter every bone in their body etc.

Varroq dies.

@leo-343: It's pretty great, he's unstoppable matched against the right opponents. And yeah he could destroy an entire army simply by pinching off an artery with a few words, he's pretty great :D

Hmm idk, Varroq probably has a better chance at winning Scenario 1 than Eragon, but I don't see how he can win Scenario 2. Eragon is too versatile after training with Oromis and leagues stronger than his first book incarnation.

@thevivas: That's what I figured. Verroq's resilience could more than likely handle anything that Eragon could throw out at that point, and Verroq definitely has the physical edge. Scenario two I imagine, is one-sided in the favor of Eragon.
