Venompool Vs Poison

By the 1990s, after years of partying with Beyonder, Venompool was abandoned by Beyonder who has become tired with his fun, and with Venompool, and returned to the "world". Venompool is then snapped out of Beyonder's magic and tried to resume his contract to kill Beyonder, but then realized he had pawned the Recton Expungifier. Though spurred by Beyonder's comment, Venompool got himself clean by kidnapping and sold a drunken Tony Stark to AIM. He used his money to start his life over until finally spending all his money away to deciding to be a real hero. But unfortunately, Venompool couldn't applied to becoming member of such famous superhero teams such as the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, or the Defenders due to possessing the now unpopular Jheri curls. Knowing what he had to do, Venompool tried to remove his Jheri curls in which he so happens to be in a bell tower which the ringing of the bells freed him from the Jheri curls. Despite being rid of the Jheri curls, Venompool's actions as a "hero" only left mindless violence in his wake by slaughtering small time crooks. Again being looked down and frowned upon by the public, Venompool was consoled and advised by a passing police officer into entering the Secret Wars, a series of fights between heroes and underdeveloped villains, that could boost his recognition. Although, Venompool was hesitant in which he was met by one of the contenders Sentry and was criticized by him for not "get[ting] it" with the status of superheroes. He then left the Secret Wars to find another way to be significant.

Venompool went back to where he pawned the Recton Expungifier and bought the gun back to resume killing the Beyonder. He then made a fake phone call and told Beyonder that he was throwing a gala event celebrating his (Beyonder's) life in his apartment. Beyonder agreed to make an appearance in which Venompool waited for his arrival. Upon seeing him, Beyonder was with Venompool's archnemesis Carnage Curl - a female offshoot of his symbiote-sentient Jheri curls. This led to Venompool engaging Carnage Curl and Beyonder on a talk show. During the show, Venompool learned to his shock that Carnage Curl was pregnant which led to a surprise guest from Galactus who revealed that he was responsible for impregnating Carnage Curl and then engaging into a fight with Beyonder, causing Earth to be destroyed in the process. Venompool, however, survived and having enough of Galactus and Beyonder, erased them from existence with the Recton Expungifier and saving the Earth. He was hailed as a hero and gained the recognition he deserved. Although he had become very relevant, and he know that something was still missing. While being interviewed during the premiere for his movie, he noticed Thor who was gaining admiration. This made him realized that other people are also being admired and decided to wipe out anyone of similar heroic deeds. Over the next year, Venompool killed every hero and villain, leaving only the more attractive alive, for adoration purposes. He became the world's only, and thus most important superhero. He became more mattered in the media and his adventures were more significant than anyone's had ever been. Everything he did had a rippled effect on the world he really, really mattered. Unfortunately, he didn't handle the success with grace. Instead, it was an opportunity to decry all those who opposed him along the way to becoming king of the world. He soon gave in to his own ego fueled by his long past rejection and a desperate insecurity that no success could quell. But still with all the power he had, he realize he was empty and nothing made him feel like the success he worked so hard to become.

Venompool later sought a therapy session from Doc Sampson, whom Sampson explained to Venompool of his problems as the result of the Beyonder's rejection which cause Venompool's inner state to defend himself from the world with a wall of arrogance and ego. As a result it turns this inner defense mechanism against the world. Sampson concluded to Venompool that it is common for him and other people who feels persecuted to be blind to the reality that "he's just a jerk who no one wants around." Sampson's comment made a startling revelation to Venompool (right after killing Sampson) to find his answer was to grow and evolve as a human, learning from his mistakes and becoming a better person for its own sake, even when no one was watching. But unfortunately, his true self was an "unredeemable ass". Instead of doing what he should have done, he erased himself and the universe with the Recton Expungifier.

Spider-man rejected the rebirth offered to him by the giant spider and attacked it (killing it by ripping off its head.) The Venom symbiote sensed what was happening and left Mac Gargan to seek out Peter Parker under his cocoon in the Brooklyn Bridge. It searched him out and took him over, filling the gap left by his incomplete metamorphosis. The new creature broke into Stark Tower and confronted Aunt May and Mary Jane, and tried to reassure them everything would be okay. They believed their creation to be an act of love, a miracle beyond anything one could ever ask for in church; His intention was to replicate himself ("share his gift") within Mary Jane. After Mary Jane referred to him as Venom, he denounces Venom as a loser that never realized its full potential and named himself "Poison." Wolverine attempted to fight him but was soon defeated. Luke Cage does the same but Poison produced a stinger from his wrist that pierced Luke's skin on his shoulder, which rendered him helpless on the floor. Poison offered MJ his power but she spurned him and said she would rather be dead. This does not faze him as apparently, Poison could reanimate her corpse to be just like him – she would be a mindless creature, but "without the pesky feminine impulses getting in the way." After Mary Jane agreed to the replication, Poison had second thoughts and Mary Jane convinced him to leave. Poison eventually unearthed the body of Gwen Stacy and replicated himself within her, turning her into a Carnage-like creature.
