I would say Vegetto first of all the fusion has a set time limit before it wears off which is a major downside were as the fusion by pottara earings dont have that down side. Now look at who both fusions were fighting Gogeta was facing Janemba who is a powerful being but Vegetto was facing Super Buu with Piccolo, Goten, Trunks and Mystic Gohan absorbed now Super Buu at his normal level would take a super saiyan 3 to beat now add piccolo and Gotenks to that who had Mystic Gohan on the ropes and then add Gohan to his power thats power on whole other level and Vegetto was making him look like a baby even when he was a piece of choclate Buu was being knocked around like a child.
