@dccomicsrule2011: I shall voice my unpopular opinion then, Nihilus drains anyone who comes against him :P /slight sarcasm. I guess when I argue Nihilus, I argue potential!Nihilus, the one who was supposed to be able to eat the Force itself. But not going to debate here, so moving on.

@dratini1331: : Extended universe. It's the books, comics, and video games.

@universalshadow: You didn't prove anything with your scans. All of the scans you've posted for their durability in terms of physical force are pretty damn lackluster. Of course I knew about all of that and I'm still saying that they would die after few punches coming from some like Superman, who can replicate every single feat from there without even trying.

Also some of the posted stuff doesn't have anything to do with physical stats.

@gmmb: Actually, I'm pretty sure that most people on this site believe that Batman, even with prep, can't beat everyone. From the looks of it, many seem to think that the list of people he CAN beat is actually rather short.

Apparently, Batman's no longer cool, but hating on him is on the rage. Hipsters and their mood swings I suppose.

Jmarshmallow

Have been thinking the same thing.

And why would you hate EU threads? Your meant to teach those who don't know, not hate them for not knowing. Unless you're referencing the trolls, in which case I would agree.

I can understand his reasoning. People who legitimately don't know about the EU are fine. It's the people who fall into the following categories:

  • Don't accept anything beyond the movies (especially if it means their favorite character losing). Essentially, disregarding the legitimacy of the EU.
  • Ignore the context of EU feat by either blowing them out of proportion or calling them PIS; whatever suits their arguments.
  • Unwillingness to learn.

Ben 10 is horribly overrated and underrated at the same time.

Flash Thompson has the potential to be the best Venom. (Combat wise)

Battle threads should be more creative and have special conditions on winning. For example: Character(s) A needs to steal the special object from Character(s) B and escape before Characters(s) B captures him/her/them.

Complaining about battle forum rules is stupid and if it bothers you that much, you might as well leave this site.

We should make our very own character in our bios section of our profile with a complete list of detailed feats and powers. Then use said character in Battle forum tourneys and CAV's.

Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean you should post insults and mock their intelligence. You should kindly educate the person about the topic and if they still disagree, just agree to disagree and never respond back.

I'll post more when I think of more.

Math and calcs are key to determining just how impressive a feat is. Qualitative estimates are next to worthless if we want to be scientific, but no the moment most viners see math their brains shut down.

The only issue I have with Superman on this site is that its almost always the speedblitz toss into the sun sinerio. It gets old, I just with with Superman's powers or skill people could get more creative.

I love Superman for his character, not his powers.

I also find the Prep wins argument WINS argument flawed matter who it is for. It simply closes a possibly interesting discussion.

I feel that character flaws should be used as often as a characters powers, especially with villains.

I love arguments that include information, feats, pictures, and open minded discussion.

Losing a discussion isn't a failure on this site. Just lean from the loss for the next argument you make.

40k stomps on Star Wars.

The Forerunners and Flood stomp on Star wars.

#219 Posted by ComicStooge (13373 posts) - - Show Bio

Calcs are ridiculous and shouldn't be used at all. You can't use science in fiction. It just doesn't mix.

...Or is that a popular opinion?

Dear Thor Fans,

This post is made with regards to Thor's daddy Skyfather Odin. He has some great feats and a panel here and there credits him with busting galaxies but HE IS NOT REALLY OMNIPOTENT. Half the time he doesn't even know what Thor was upto when Thor and Loki were children. They stole Surtur's sword and bought upon war on Asgard and he became aware when the bloody frost giants were at the doorstep! If he was really omnipotent then he would have stopped Thor or the Warriors Three from making countless stupid mistakes.

And He CANNOT BEAT THE GODDAMN SPECTRE !

Sincerely,

J. Lockart

Thor has incredibly slow combat speed feats. The good speed feats people post for him are either travel speed feats, classic ones executed once in a blue moon or misinterpreted current ones. It's pretty clear that Thor is very slow in combat.

Ultimate Spider-Man would take a comfortable majority over Spectacular Spider-Man (Animated shows).

Lets see...

. Reaction Time is too inconsistent, so i think it should not be used for determine a battle

. My cat can beat TOAA

. Luigi should beat Mario

. Deadpool can beat Batman and Deathstroke

@comicstooge: Try that on spacebattles or stardestroyer and see how far it gets you.

This isn't philosophy class, debate scientifically with quantatized feats or admit you're just running on "well it looks like" and GTFO.

Also, when we can clearly determine that say, a Lunar Class cruiser dumps out multiteraton shots and a sovereign class reaper can only put out 0.4 megatons, it's clear that the Imperium of Man shits on the reapers in every way there is to shit on something.

I thought this was popular. I personally see Thor as having the reflexes of a stock standard street-leveler, maybe a bit higher if we are being generous, so compared to people like Supes or even worse Wonder-Woman, that is pretty poor.

Also, if Nova is serious he could most likely beat anyone from the Young Justice team, aside from Miss Martian due to Telepathy

YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!!!!!!

Also, Mass Effect can't beat anything in space given canonical yields, I mean 20 kiloton main guns? Bitch please Star destroyers put out more firepower by orders of magnitude with small anti fighter weapons.

Turians? This here Ork waaagh can solo the entire setting species without losing one ship given that you'd need every reaper ever to kill one small escort vessel.

The only good match up is modern halo with it's pitiful guns.

It's unpopular with Thor fans though suffice to say. I don't see the problem. I prefer Thor to Wonder Woman but she dominates him in a fight.

Hulk and Storm can't beat everyone. They are also very overrated.

What about this one. Wonder-Woman takes a majority against Supes in a fight (Pre-New 52 versions).

I think that's one we'll have to agree to disagree on. Though it is a close fight.

@cheesesticks: Many have this bizarre persecution complex like DBZ addicts, Furries, Yaoi fangirls, and Bronies (I just tell them to stop getting their MLP in my Homestuck and Warhammer 40k *grumbles*), where they accuse the vine of some great anti-hulk conspiracy, even though I'd be hesistant to give the Vine the average competence to run a lemonade stand.

Edward Cullen would take a majority against quite a few street-levelers, at least up to the middle-top tier, and he beats Movie Blade quite comfortably.

I both understand why DBZ had to be banned AND think that there is possibility to have interesting battles with their characters, such as Kid Buu vs Doomsday.

A fight with any Kryptonian bores me fairly quickly unless there are special considerations or goals.

Martian Manhunter is both very impressive and highly overrated. Anyone that is of substantial will to ward off his TP and can carry some petrol and matches can beat him.

Lastly, and maybe the least popular of all, the forums and the fiction they are based on should be fun, and not treated like you are a medieval husband and the characters are your wench, in need of to-the-death defense.

Both DBZ and Superfriends alike would be alot more enjoyable if they were not defended with tooth and claw. Some of the most interesting debates that I have seen so far are either

A. Very well informed people with a bunch of knowledge and proof of that knowledge having a great back n forth, or

B. Interesting scenarios that have been unexplored, based on special circumstances, humor, or true aspects of personality or power that would be interesting to discuss.

Constantly bringing up the same characters fighting with the same characters under the same select circumstances is what WWE does.

@laflux: While I can respect that, I cannot take your decision to like a book made by someone who used much of the proceeds from her book to aid the Mormon church in funding Prop 8 and Uganda's kill the gays bill in a positive light

The book is of questionable literary quality but Meyer herself as a person is in the same boat as Miller, a hateful bigot who should be shamed for it.

#248 Posted by laflux (16806 posts) - - Show Bio

@guardian_of_gravity: I never said I like the books, though I did enjoy the movies to an extent. I had no idea Meyer did that though?

#249 Posted by WarlordEternal (2670 posts) - - Show Bio

Savage Hulk (and anything less) is in no way capable of beating Godzilla

Superman beats Goku

Mongul beats Superman (is how it should be)

#250 Posted by Guardian_of_Gravity (2979 posts) - - Show Bio

@laflux: Meyer sends most of her earnings to the Mormon church which funded anti-LGBT legislation around the world. Even if she is okay with the LGBT community (which I doubt given her pretty socially conservative viewpoint) giving her money in effect gives money to the "arrest the out and proud" bill in Russia or the outright genocidal legislation in Uganda.

Do the right thing, and pirate her works and adaptations.
