I haven't gotten to Venom yet in Ultimate Spider-Man unfortunately, I really need to start reading that again but I'm caught up in a Warhammer 40k groove at the moment.

@granitesoldier: Hah. Who's your favorite faction thus far? If you say anything but Chaos I will have to hurt you!

@strider92: It's hard to say! I've just started reading them. It came a suggestion to me from a friend. I've read Horus Rising and the Ultramarines Omnibus. I'm about halfway through False Gods right now, and my wife bought me the Salamander's Omnibus as a gift, so I'm going to read that next.

Favorite faction out of my limited reading? I'm not sure. The Ultramarines are super-rigid, but Uriel Ventris is my favorite character thus far. I like that he knows when to break from the Codex and he thinks for himself. Honestly, every faction seems like they aren't good people, just who's less evil. The Iron Warriors is Dead Sky Black Sun were horrific, and I found the Tyranids fascinating in Warriors of Ultramar.

I've done some reading online and the Deathwatch sounds awesome, but I quickly found out how HUGE the 40k universe is. I have only just begun!

@granitesoldier: I have a feeling you'd like Aeonid Thiel too. Like Uriel he breaks from the Codex. He basically designed and theorized warfare between Space Marines and was branded a heretic for it and when he was arrested for his teachings he decided he couldn't get into anymore trouble than he already was and broke into the Ultramarine's Primarch own personal armory so he could learn about the weapons there and of course when the Heresy happened suddenly he was the most useful Ultramarine in the chapter due to him having come up with plans for exactly that eventuality. Plus he looks badass xD:

You may even enjoy reading about Zael Effernetti (Hyperion) he's basically a Space Marine from the Grey Knights (the best Space Marine chapter in the whole of 40k imo) who still has his humanity which is kinda cool to see.

and yes the 40k-verse is MASSIVE years on i'm still learning new stuff lol. The amount of stories and characters is huge.

@strider92: Good references on who to read up on next. Aeonid is an Ultramarine? Zael sounds interesting as well. In this bleak, corrupt, dystopian universe it's nice to see soldiers who fight for people, not the governments or politicians (it's what sold me on Uriel).

I've never played the 40k game, but I must admit, once I started reading I was instantly a fan.

The game get's expensive if you are playing the miniature war game.

Let me restate: It get's expensive.

But, it can be quite fun=)

Lol. I give it to Flash, I have only seen Ult. Spidey when he first got the suit for an issue and have never seen him fight the ultimates. But from what I've seen I think Flash's tactical knowledge and versatility with Venom would give him the win.

He went berserk and put up a decent fight against the Ultimates. Thor then proceeded to fry him with a lightning bolt, KOing Parker and the suit.

Ever seen Servo Skull with flame throwers? I made one servo skull that had to skulls carrying the larger heavy flamer. It was so sweet for my Imperial Guard.

Flash should win, all Ult Venom knows is feeding. Flash is smarter and doesn't need to feed off people to survive.

The servo skulls are pretty sweet, so I can imagine that one was pretty kick arse.

@cadencev2: I am in the process of shopping around for a new army though. My old stuff was stolen...
