lol. IMHO, the only title which I feel wrote him well was Dark Reign: Spider-Man. He would actually web swing and think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Despite my love for Ellis' run on Thunderbolts, I actually blame him for the current Gargan. Millar in Marvel Knights at least had Venom a fair size and displayed he was learning how to use the symbiote. Bam, Ellis' series hits and Gargan is suddenly on roids and acting like a brute.

It's kind of hilarious that Gargan was a more credible threat to Spider-man as Scorpion and he is widely considered a joke as Venom, when he could be truly lethal if only he utilized his full potential (or if the writers wanted him to).
Millar re-invented Gargan as Venom, and I agree, there was nothing monstrous about his interpretation (but it was rather clear that he didn't mean for Gargan to be nearly as strong, or durable as he is now). When you say "Dark Reign: Spider-man" you mean a TPB, or the List? Because he didn't appear in the latter, IIRC.

I like Millar has demonstrated some issues with understanding power levels in his writing.
