In a straight up fight Tyrion should get beat here. The Ewoks know how to sling spears.... primitive weapons and fighting is something they know and do well. Tyrion can fight, but he's not that great at it.... he's much more of a strategist, so in an actual fight.... Tyrion go's down. Quickly too.

I recall the Ewoks being clumsy in and out of combat, as well as extremely simple-minded. If it throws the spear, Tyrion blocks it and proceeds to bash its skull in.
Did the ewoks ever even fight in close combat? I recall them merely setting traps for the Empire's clumsy technology, and ambushing the incompetent Storm Troopers with superior numbers.
Think of it this way.... in a culture that's not far beyond hunters and gatherer's, the hunters are usually pretty good with their weapons. If they're not, they don't survive. Tyrion on the other hand never had to hunt for a damn thing. He spent his time drinking and whoring. I understand that, to beat the empire they used traps and numbers.... but Tyrion isn't exactly an armored, weapon wielding, combat trained Stormtrooper with extreme tech superiority..... in this fight he's just a dwarf with a shield. I see no reason why he shouldn't go down the majority of the time, unless..... he does his typical Tyrion thing and talks his way out of it. In a fight to the death though.... the Ewok should take this.

Feats > claims, m8. Tyrion's the better fighter. He's no Jaime, but he clearly shows some semblance of talent in both his fighting scenes.
You're also really playing up Storm Troopers by stating them as combat trained, when not one hit their intended target throughout the entire series, and they decided to send a force of giant walkers and super-fast gliders into a heavily forested area to engage the natives.
