@killemall: You don't think Mongul has any chance?
@killemall: You don't think Mongul has any chance?
Not really, i know Tyrant isnt exactly flowing with feats, but he is clearly shown to be pretty close to Galactus in power level, i think Tyrant is just a league above Mongul.
But you know feats from mongul i would believe, here check out the chronology for Tyrant that i recently made (it was made before comicvine changeover, so you will have to click on the image individually, not open them in a new window, and press next as you read along)
then you will have seen everyone on Tyrant , then you tell me what you think

@killemall: Nice scans! Tyrant certainly knows how to lay the the smackdown! That being said I would lean my vote a little more towards Tyrant but I do think that this would be an epic battle as PC Mongul has beaten the crap out of PC Superman numerous times and has taken on groups of heroes too. In fact IIRC Mongul easily defeated the Justice League and then took on Superman and the Legion of Superheroes at the same time.
@warlordeternal: Fair enough, my stand on Tyrant winning everytime pretty much is based on the last paragraph on that blog, where Tyrant actually faces a Galactus recently fed on a planet. And give how powerful Galactus is, and how despite being recently fed the two were potrayed as equal, i think that should give Tyrant a solid edge.
That being said, your stance is totally justified. Once we ignore that fight, all other feats from him fall short against Mongul beating Justice League (i am not as versed with Mongul apart from the scans i have seen on comicvine, although i vaguely recall Mongul losing against Superman Batman and Wonder Woman together), so we can agree to disagree, thats the best part in comicvine :)
(also lets face it ,you are a Mongul fan, i am a Tyrant fan, had this been 50% 50%, we would both vote on the characters we adore :p )
@killemall: agreed :)
The fight you are referring to with Superman Batman and Wonder Woman was in the book "For the man who has everything" In which Mongul lost because Robin threw the Black Mercy on him. (the black mercy is a plant like creature that attaches itself to a victim and feeds off of there bio aura or life energy and in return puts them in a dream like state were they live out their greatest fantasy's) Superman was ensnared by one on his birth day, courtesy of Mongul. He then shows up as Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman try to find out what the thing is. Batman realizing that Mongul is way out of his league stays with Robin in order to free Superman while Wonder Woman fights. Mongul literally beats Wonder Woman within an inch of her life before Superman is finally freed. In a fit of rage Superman viciously attacks Mongul. Though Superman is fighting with the pure intent to cause harm to his opponent, Mongul still held the majority. Once there is an opening, Superman manages to get on top of Mongul and is about to bash his face but he gets distracted by a statue of his parents and is ko'ed by Mongul. (which leads to the picture up top) Before Mongul can deliver the final blow Robin calls out to him and throws the Black Mercy on him.
@king_saturn: Any particular reasons my lord?
@thanobomb1124: Easily or with lots of effort?
@lone_wolf_and_cub: You dont think he could put up a fight to Tyrant?

Tyrant's Power even at a Depowered Level should he was far beyond your regular powerhouse villain... I mean we are talking about someone who could put away Silver Surfer, Thor, Gladiator easily and all at the same time... now Pre Crisis Mongul has the strength to do so but the versatility of Thor and Silver Surfer would cause PC Mongul problems because they wont just slug it out with him as PC Superman did... but these same cosmic powers did not affect Tyrant at all in battle. Heck, even an amped up Thanos could not defeat Tyrant... could not even seriously harm him.
@king_saturn: Okay makes sense but Mongul wasnt just brawn, he was also brains. He is really intelligent and also has other powers like shooting blast from his hands and eyes. I think he also has the ability to teleport. In round 2 with prep he could possibly bring some of his crazy devices with him.

Tyrant has Technopathy... so Mongul bringing devices with him for assistance would be a big no no because they could be taken over and used against him by Tyrant... on top of that... I don't think blasts from Mongul will hurt Tyrant that much... not when even the Silver Surfer's blast power did nothing to him.
@king_saturn: What about the dimensional inversion cubes?
p.s. Sorry it took so long to reply back. I was very busy.

I would believe considering that is some type of tech Tyrant might be able to manipulate those too...
@warlordeternal: Not seeing how Mongul last long against Tyrant here... dude took out several heralds, Gladiator and Beta Ray Bill without much effort at all. I'm supposed to believe Mongul is in the same category? I'd have to see some convincing scans...
@malevolent1: I don't have a lot but I will post what I have...
This is his first actual fight against PC Superman
This is from his battle with the Justice League
This is his fight against Superman and the Legion of Superheroes
After the Legion left to stop the Sun-Eater Superman stayed to fight Mongul. This is is only true victory against him and he past out immediately after.
This is his fight with Wonder Woman
I think this is all I've got.
Tyrant for the win
@warlordeternal: No disrespect to Mongul. Dude is a beast, as the scans clearly show above. However, as the following scans indicate, Tyrant not only takes out Silver Surfer, Gladiator, Ganymede (a bit of a non-factor honestly...), Jack of Hearts, Beta Ray Bill, Morg and Tyrant (although, the latter two fought amongst themselves for some of the fight...) at the same time, he then challenges Galactus himself:
Dude takes out the indicated heralds, Gladiator, Beta Ray Bill and Jack of Hearts...then challenges Galactus. I have much respect for Mongul...he is easily one of THE big threats to just about anyone in the DC universe...I just can't see him doing what Tyrant did here, though.
@malevolent1: I saw scans of his fight with this group before, thanks to @Killemall.
Tyrant is total a badass villain and to be honest I would lean a little more towards Tyrant in this particular match-up.
I just thought it would make for a great fight.
@warlordeternal: Absolutely! Mongul is monstrous! And I hope I didn't come off as rude...that was not my intent, and I apologize if it seemed that way.
And incidentally, thanks for those scans, they were educational!!
@malevolent1: No problem!
@malevolent1:Hey I managed to find the scans of Mongul and Superman's final battle.
@warlordeternal: Outstanding! Thanks for sharing!!
@malevolent1: My pleasure.
Tyrant wins everytime be it H2H or otherwise.
I understand he has limited feat but he is clearly up there with Galactus in terms of power level, depowered or otherwise.
