Mhmm if there was prep for Thanos I think he could handle it but on the spot I think Trigon posseses the power to win.

Random encounter, no prep-time : Trigon stomps.
With prep time : Trigon still wins but Thanos can put a really good fight.

That's a lie. Thanos is suspect number 1 in all realities. He has the prep feats to prove it, too.

On a pure power level, Thanos is an ant to Trigon, but Thanos has made a career dealing with people who he is an ant too.

If Thanos is more powerful than you, he crushes you. If Thanos is less powerful than you, he outsmarts you. That's just the way the character works. He's like prep-time Batman, but with a base power level equal to Pre-Crisis Mongul.

Trigon is actually stronger and way more powerful than Darkseid, plus Darkseid doesn't even possess the power that would be needed to even harm trigon the terrible. Darkseid had a hard time beating superman so how would he even compare to trigon who could wipe out half of the JLA with in minutes
