both have ak-47 hunting each other down in a big city, who wins
Trevor Phillips vs. Carl CJ Johnson
Trevors special ability is a non-canon gameplay mechanic.
Yeah, I don't think Trevor getting angry is going to make his bullets hurt anymore hm?
Trevors special ability is a non-canon gameplay mechanic.
Non canon? He can ignore his pain receptors and go berserker. This is something actually obtainable in the real world that he does in the game. What the hell else are we basing this fight on? The illustrious GTA literature? I say this comes down to who can take the most punishment based on what we know. Trevor fits the bill. I'm pretty sure the guy even has military experience on top of his career as a thief/mercenary/drug kingpin.
@aeon-rising: Getting angry doesn't negate the negative effects of organ failure. Getting angry doesn't increase bullet damage. Its a gameplay mechanic. Just like everything else you do manually in GTA outside of things like character animations.
@godofnick: Exactly.
@aeon-rising: Again, CJ took out the entire Area 69 military base by himself and stole a jet. I really don't think military experience is going to matter.

It will if you actually need to hunt the other person down. All the story missions feats in the games are ridiculous anyway. I based my pick on character specific skills for the scenario. Trevor has way more to offer in way of life experience and usable knowledge to find and assassinate CJ.
@aeon-rising: Trevor was only in the air force and got kicked out before he actually got to fly any planes on real missions.

He was days before completing his training. You can't discount years and years of experience killing people and REAL training. No matter how his actual career ended up.
@aeon-rising: Story mission feats are basically all there is to go off of. You can't use something ridiculous like a game mechanic as a feat. "Trevor discovered that he had a talent for flying jets. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Forces to pilot fighter jets, but several days prior to completing his training, Trevor was deemed mentally unstable by the "witch" in charge of psychological evaluations, thus resulting in Trevor's discharge and grounding for life." That's it for military experience.
@aeon-rising: CJ got a piloting licence aswell and also killed people in great quantity.
Just saying.
If this is a straight up fight maybe CJ but I just don't see him out hunting the psychotic redneck in this particular situation.

Trevor going crazy isn't manual though.

Well yeah, he can go crazy all he wants, but that doesn't make him bulletproof or any more durable than a normal human being is.
@i_like_swords: He's able to take more pain than the usual when he's raging out. Its within the gameplay to do so, but whether or not he canonically achieved it, its unknown. So I'd agree.
@monsterstomp: I suppose it'd give him a high pain threshold. I imagine he's the kind of guy who can take a real beating :p
CJ would solo the Avengers with the crap he did.
Yet he still can't follow the damn train.
Why are people discussing the (sigh) feats of in-game characters but ignoring the special in-game abilities of those same characters? That makes zero sense at all. It's either the whole in-game canon or this discussion is not worth bringing up.

Oh youu!
Don't mind me just a late input coming through. These are both powerful characters but I have to say CJ would end Trevor so fast it would make your damn head spin if we're talking guns/weapons. Now I think h2h fighting CJ would still win but not so easily. Trevor is a missile but CJ is a nuke.

YES! YES! YEEEESSS!
Trevor uses Lester to track CJ and snipes him
