His speed was insane though. He completely outreacted eletrical discharge, dodged bullets close range and saw a bus crash in slow motion.

That is insane. I'm not even sure where the speed of electricity is on the Mach number scale, but it's leagues beyond the speed of a bullet...

@frozen: Technically Peter should not have been dodging as the electrical discharge was happening through air meaning that friction was very low and the speed of the electricity was around 96% the speed of light (as it is in a copper wire) so it's probably 99% through air. They slowed down the lighting dramatically. As peter does not have speed of light reactions.

I'll wait until I see the movie to apply more math, but the closest thing to Electro will probably be a lightening bolt, which travels at 3700 miles...per second. Mach number is pointless to assign, because mach refers to an object moving in relation to the speed of sound (and energy has no sound) - but it would be Mach 17,000+

Electromagnetic waves (which is what electricity energy travels through to provide power to everything) travels near the speed of light.

Its probably closer to the former. Either way its ridiculously fast and even if the writers weren't taking into account real life physics (cos there's no way there were) its definitely above bullets, even if its a fraction of its true speed.

Well Tobey stopped a train at full speed in Spiderman 2 and if we count the symbiote suit of spiderman 3 he would win for sure! That said, I have not seen The Amazing Spiderman 2 yet.

I think The Amazing Spiderman 2 has the raw agility, and intelligence to win. But Tobey was far, far stronger.

Garfield's Spidey for the win, not to mention He sorta actually looks like the Teenage Peter Parker that I usually imagine.

It doesn't release in the US until May 2...

Maguire's Spidey was far tougher and more durable, as well as more strategic in battle. I give this one to him, but then again I am biased as I love Raimi Spider-Man and hate Webb's.

As do I, I am really hoping ASM2 is a good movie, but still won't give him a win over Tobey.

Garfield, Tobey is stronger but it shouldn't matter here.

Garfield murmurs a lot, that said his portrayal if Spidey has a lot of old school comedy aspects to him which I love.

I feel ya man. It is sad that movies made in America are usually released weeks after it is shown in many different countries. :(

2. I say ASM wins. He's more agile, arguably just as strong (seriously, an arguement can be made for both you have lifting a car with easy vs lifting a heavy a** platform in SM 2 with difficulty) and uses his webs more intelligently.

Dude ASM2 is much much better then the first ASM. Like as in it's actually enjoyable. Tobey still wins though.

I can assure you that a lot of people will disagree with you.

Tobey did a fantastic job. It's alright if you disagree, but it's almost universally accepted that Tobey Maguire was great as Peter Parker.

@nickzambuto: Oh yeah, and factor in that Andrew's Amazing Spider-man movies get mixed reviews while Tobey's get most of the positive reviews from the fans.

Andrew is ok as Spider-man, but I hope they don't make any more Spider-man movies after this. Next actor (if there is going to be another freaking reboot again) will probably be worse than Andrew ever was.
