Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (comic versions)
-All four are armed with their standard weapons plus a belt of throwing stars for each. Before the battle, they are given a map of the battlefield, the starting locations of all their enemies, brief bios and power descriptions of all their enemies, and 30 minutes to plan.
Blue X
Harry Potter trio (movie versions, roughly Order of the Phoenix age)
-Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.
-They all have their wands, but no other weapons/tools.
-They are told there are four other enemy teams in the woods they must defeat, but are given no more information or prep.
Red X
Original 5 X-Men (comic versions)
-Cyclops, Angel, Iceman (just learned to create ice armor), Jean Grey (pre-telepathy), and Beast (pre-transformation).
-They have no weapons, and no prep aside from the knowledge that there are multiple teams of enemies nearby they must defeat.
Yellow X
Team Avatar
-Aang (only knows airbending and waterbending), Katara (water gourd), Sokka (boomerang and meteorite sword), Toph, and Zuko.
-Sokka has a map of the area with markers on the starting locations of enemy teams. That is their only prep.
Orange X
X-Men Evolution (cartoon versions)
-Spyke (post-upgrade), Nightcrawler, Kitty Pryde, Rogue
-No weapons, and no prep aside from the knowledge that there are multiple teams of enemies nearby they must defeat.
-Morals are on for everyone.
-Everyone is in character. This means they will not use tactics that they aren't normally seen using. (HP trio won't use deadly curses, Cyclops won't spam massive optic blasts, Katara can't bloodbend, Toph won't just bury everyone underground, Nightcrawler won't tele-drop or tele-dismember, et cetera).
-Victory is achieved by death or KO. No incapacitation or BFR.
And just to get some actual debate going...
Just in case anyone wants to just say "# team wins cuz they're better lol" without giving reasons or debate/argumentation, here are some opening remarks to kick off the discussion.
-Yes, TMNT is at a power disadvantage compared to the rest of the teams. But you also have to consider that they are the most skilled and well-trained team on the field, and they are the only ones with significant prep or knowledge of their enemies.
-Some teams may seem to have a power advantage, but you must keep in mind that they are limited by in-character morals and tendencies and lack of prep. The kind of insta-win tactics usually thrown out for characters like the Harry Potter team or the Avatar team are actually very seldom-used, and are unlikely to actually happen.
-The Harry Potter team is at a physical disadvantage (no better physical capabilities than the average highschooler) but have an advantage in long-range and wild-card abilities when given a sufficient chance.
-The members of the original 5 X-Men are all extrememly powerful now, but they weren't back in the very beginning. They were hindered by morals and lack of experience. Any current feats for them do not apply.
-The Avatar team has a bit of a power advantage, but all members of the team are generally pacifistic. They rarely go all out, and usually try to end fights with minimal bloodshed if at all possible. In addition, they have no experience fighting against enemies with superpowers other than bending.
